View Full Version : Brew n Wave Carafe Fracture

My coffee pot developed a tiny crack at the bottom where the side meets the bottom. It's tiny, but it leaks too much to use.
Anyone know where to get a replacement? I googled it, and found someone complaining that the microwave costs $120, and the carafe costs $80 plus shipping, or something like that.
If it's that bad, maybe it can be fixed?
It's made by Kenmore so I tried the Kenmore site, but the young lady couldn't help me - imagine that.

I often wondered how that carafe would hold up under the strain that they are subject to. Brew and (Wave) goodbye, I suppose.

Not sure if we have the same unit, but mine is from LG (sounds like the same combo microwave / coffee maker). Maybe there's are cheaper?
The ways ours works &^%$$# so we use a separate coffee maker. Not the most elegant, but probably a cheaper solution.

We had a similar experience a few years ago and I was able to find two carafes on ebay. There were cheap so I bought them both and keep them in my shop. I now make sure the carafe is stowed when we are cruising or out in rough water. Some manufacturers have stopped installing coffee makers because the product changes so often, the production line is slowed to accomodate the latest verision of a Mr. Coffee. The boat builders and RV manufacturers buy most of the prodcuction runs of the popular coffee makers so even the makers don't sell replacement parts. The malls always seem to have something is is close but will not work.

Thanks all. I'll keep looking. For now, I'm using a quart sized baggie in the carafe to catch the coffee. It's working.
