I haven't been here in a while, did some searching to no avail.

I think i have a fuel starving situation - a yr or 2 ago I posted how I was seeing what felt like slippage at WOT - well, now I don't think it was, it's more prevalent now and it feels more now like fuel starving while at WOT - I only go there once in a while, but don't like this feeling - I found if I feathered the throttle up/down a bit, I'd get my RPM's and speed back. (almost like I'm pumping the EFI ?) This is on a 210 SLX '07 with 5.0L EFI Engine and standard Mercruiser outdrive.

I'm wondering what I should look at here?

Thanks,

I had to switch as smartcraft was broke and could not find used. Figured since vessel view was newer it'd have more features but it has less. If only shows fuel in total gallons and individual tanks on a gauge. After running the gen all week or weekend I like to start off my next trip with even tanks. Also no favorites page. I love having the 3 or 4 screens I used most where they were easy to find. Also a couple other pages that I likes and it does not have.

Hi all, just joined up. The wife and i have owned boats forever. All lake boats though, still have a 26ft ElIminator for the lake. We just purchaed a 1999 SeaRay 400 Sedan Bridge this Febuary, wow what a differance. It's like driving a house. Still trying to get used to dockng this beast but i get better each time out. Sure is nice out on the ocean with our freinds, so far we love this boat. Have a few questions i could use some help with.

(1) I have been told i must have the black water holding tank discharge valve in the closed position while underway or i will face a stiff fine if boarded. Is this true and where is this valve handle located? I can't find it and don't want to shut off something else by mistake.

(2) What would be concidered the normal/proper temp my 3116TA CATS should run at? What is the temp that they would be concidered hot and i should worry?

(3) This boat seems to put out one hell of a wake and the back end gets realy wet with salt spray. Is this normal for all ocean boats or just the way these boats do? I am sure i still need to figure out he proper tab usage but the water on the back when i return from a trip seems excessive.

Thanks in advance for any info and feel free to add anything else that might be helpfull to me.

Jim

2) does international marine law prohibit firearms on board if owner/operator has a license to carry or CCW permit?

not that I ever think I would need it, but out on the hook, are out by yourselves, the extra "security" of protecting your property and most importantly family seems valid, but I don't recall what the "law" states about firearms on board???

If this posted 2 times I apologize. I have a 2008 340 Sundancer which I bought new in 2008. Last fall of 2012 I started getting a bad septic odor in the bathroom. This ONLY happens after running the boat and only smells in the bathroom. When I get to a destination the bathroom smells bad. I have changed my filter. Had several heavy flush outs by filling tank up with water and pumping it out. I even bleached my anchor locker thinking maybe it was from the smell of mud. My bilge is clean. Had my mechanic look it over extensively and he is stumped. Just had a company that is certified by Marinco to work on vacuflush systems check it out. They replaced some valve and my hose that runs from the toilet to the holding tank. They said this was the problem ( and was not cheap ). AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME BAD SEPTIC ODOR!!!!!! Does anyone have any ideas whatmay be causing this? Again it is only after I run the boat. No odor when I flush and no odor after boat has set for a week or so. Only after running it.

I recently replaced my xmd3 with a cmd6 on my 2005 270 SD. The remote control for the old system had a smaller hole for mounting on the helm than the new remote needed. The old hole was about 2" diameter, and the new unit needed a 3" diameter hole. Obviously you cannot use the 1/4 inch drill pilot that you would normaly use on a hole saw, since there is already a 2" inch hole where you want to put the larger hole. My solution was to take a piece of 3/8 plywood scrap and cut it to a size where I could fit it behind the panel I wanted to work on. I then caught two of the mounting holes for this panel with the piece of plywood and held the plywood through those holes with wood screws, that were smaller than the mounting screws, that hold the panel on. I now had a solid piece with no hole that I could drill the 1/4 pilot through and which would now guide the hole saw. This method allows you to keep the hole center line in the same spot as the old hole or move it. I hope this is a helpfull tip to somebody.
