I have all the switches engraved and backlit with a dimmer. The gauges are also hooked to the dimmer and are backlit with blue pointers. Took a while but it is about done.

Beautiful job!:smt038 The switches look like an organ key board.
I may have gone black with the switches but either way it looks great.

Thanks Bill,
I had a bunch of the black switch covers and changed them to the white. I guess its all preference at that point. The white switches have the blue indicator lights to match the backlighting and the gauges. Thanks for looking and the compliment!

WOW! Looks like a completely different boat.

Did Scott Cambra do the panels?

Where did you find a red cover for the horn?

Thanks David and JD,
I machined the panels myself at my machine shop. I drew them all up on my CAM software before machining.

Close up of the engraving. The red horn actuator was purchased from FP marine. They have all kinds of switch covers.

Like you said, it's just my preference. Love the engraving and I bet the back light looks cool at night. Can you get us a night shot?

I was unaware you had a machine shop.

Are the panels something you do in the normal course of business?

With people holding on to their boats longer for whatever reason or wanting to do some customizing, I would think there would be a market out there.

What did you do with the old gauges?

I can make panels and do have some panel stock here. I know there are a few companies out there that make panels. And yes, I do still have the old gauges. I was going to put them on ebay or something when I get a chance. They all work.

I noticed on the old dash panel that you had some of the breakers that doubled as switches. Did you put the breakers somewhere else, or do the switches do double duty? I have a bunch of those things, and they are pricey.

Also, did your gauges just switch out? No need to change sensors, etc?

The breakers where mostly junk. I chucked most of them when I did the dash over. I did install all new fuse holders (glass round) that are accesible from a lower panel. The gauges where the digital signal ones from Cat so I could not use the signal that is run in a data link from the ECM on the engine. I ended up putting new sensors in. The 3208 I had in my last boat was a standard anolog signal that will work on most tach's. The gauges were not too bad to put in. I left enough room to install 2 more fuel gauges also as I have 3 tanks.

Talk about an Upgrade. Very nice!

Mick, my boat is half the size, so my two panels should be a bit easier. Thanks for your call today & thanks for posting the pics!

Where did you get the Burl Wood for the back paneling?
