Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to get an idea of what it costs to winterize and store a 40 sundancer, in the northeast? It has CAT diesels 3116s, westerbeke gen and I would likely store it outside (so I would need it shrink wrapped). The boat is kept on Cape Cod, MA so if anyone has suggestions for that area, I'd be glad to listen. Because this boat is new to me (and because of lack of time) I will not be doing any of the winterizing myself.

Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated!!

If you cannot do ANY of the work yourself, even the easy stuff, be prepared to pay.

My marina (MarineMax service) has not yet sent out 07 winterization price list, but my recollection for basic services is as follows:

1. about $200 per engine to change oil / filters / fuel filters - drain blocks and manifolds. Little less for the genny
2. about $100 for the freshwater system
3. about $100 for two heads / tank / macerator
4. about $100 for two A/C compressors
5. shrink wrap about $15/ft

They will also charge you shop labor rates for all the little stuff like battery disconnect, seacock maintenance, fuel treatment, etc.

I let my service guys do engines/genny and shrinkwrap. Everything else is quick and easy.
