All of the file storage restrictions are lifted significantly for people that donate to help offset the costs of the site. registered users can store I think 20 files, silver 200 and gold 500, plus the kb and mb for each level are doubled, so silver can upload 90kb pics and gold 200 mb pics. I'm not selling any of this functionality and its subject to change anytime, that is just what it happens to be now. The point of donating is to help offset the costs of the site, not to purchase additional features.

Given all the stinkin' antennas and radios I've bought from BOE marine, you'ld think I could get like "double platinum" or something... Maybe you should have "BOE Marine Bucks" that 1% of your purchase goes towards your status or something.... Nah...

I've got no problem with supporting the board it is well worth any price. IMHO Just think if we are going to charge people then they should know what it is they are getting. What is the platinum sponsor cost

No cost for platinum sponsorship. It is more related to people donating time, effort or resources to the operation of the site. Again, the donations are hardly mandatory, not even encouraged, just an outlet for people that want to donate money to help pay for the operation of the site. As far as "what you get" for donating, I would rather keep it at nothing except for the site staying live. As a thank you a lot of storage restrictions are lifted. If a Silver sponsor runs out of storage I would gladly increase it regardless of the current settings. If a registered member that uploads lots of interesting pics wants theirs increased I would do that too. Lets not focus on the whole "sponsor" thing. If you want to donate there is a little link up top to do so. If not thats fine too, enjoy the site and have fun.

You need to be logged into this site to make the payment, so that is how it knows. I don't do anything on my part except for the initial programming.

I do not have paypal, and don't do credit cards on the net...
used to, but someone was buying a computer with my number....no more....
I sent a check to:
BOE Marine

Annapolis, MD 21403
As Jim said, not necessary or encouraged, but hey, let's face it,
it can only be better (i.e., not limping due to only one person's support) if it's funded.
Happy boating...

Right after I enrolled for the "minimum" subscription to support CSR, the CSR Site went down for about 5 minutes. I know I'm cheap...but come on...be real !!! ;^)
