Removed my props the other day and they need a good cleaning. Does anyone have any special way of cleaning/polishing or is it just good old elbow grease and a fine wire brush.
Thanks,
Glenn
i used boat soap and a plastic brush and they shined up beautifully. Id be careful with a steel brush as they might scratch.

I have used the Mary Kate On/Off botom cleaner and a brush. It melts the algae and crud off for me. Becareful as it is an acid solution. You should wear gloves and safety glasses to protect yourself. Its not a fun job and be sure to have ventilation.

Stainless steel or Aluminum?
I have stainless steel. First I use wet fine sand paper. Then I use 3M cleaner wax. If I find a small spot that is not clean as I am waxing I go back to the wet sand paper for a bit.
I swear, if the fish could talk they would say my propellers have the best shine in the marina.

Thanks for the replies. Forgot to put in the topic that they are Stainless Steel. Will try your suggestions.
Thanks,
Glenn
Zing works well on gel coat, outdrives and props. I've used it for years. It's basically hydrochloric acid, sometimes referred to as muriatic acid or HCL. You need gloves, goggles, old clothes. Brush or spray it on. Move it around with a brush and all the crud is gone in about 60 seconds. Rinse well.
