Well just got the carrier seals out without pulling the carrier and installed the new ones with a piece if pvc pipe and pressure tested it,IT HOLDS PRESSURE!!!!, and refilled the unit. The only hang up that I have now is a screwup by me when I took off the carrier nut I forgot about the washer and ended up cracking the nut so I will have to go get one in the morning at merc along with a retaining ring. I will test fire the starboard and port engines today, closer to the lake!!!! Will test launch it on the trailer to make sure there are no leaks before backing off the trailer, a suggestion by my merc friend since I don't know the boats history, can't see any holes, but water can come in from a number of different areas.(I guess thats why I like outboards better.)Better be safe than having to put it back on the trailer and tie up the ramp, people get a little pissed when they have to wait an extra 10 minutes to launch their boat.
