i read an old thread and they used command strips to hang pictures. I tried some expensive 3m that did not work. The issue seems to be the padded vinyl wall, they wont stick to it. Any one have experience? Suggestions? The are lightweight and I don’t want to make them permanent or cause damage-

Did you clean the area that you are sticking the strip to with an alcohol pad? The command strips will not stick well if there is any residue of a cleaner or protectant on it. If that doesn't work, 3M pads may. Just a little more difficult to get off. I have used both.

Did you stick them to the vinyl padded wall? I did clean with alcohol, used the 3m Velcro double strips rated for 12 pounds. The pictures are screened on aluminum about 8” x 24” and with maybe 6 or 8 oz. and would not stick.

Have used on the vinyl, wood and fiberglass. I did have to get the heavy duty 3M double sided to use for one item on the vinyl. It is the red plastic covered black 3M mount. This stuff is strong and to get it off you must use fishing line to "saw" it so that you can roll the left over on the vinyl off. I used it where I wanted something permanently mounted, a CO2 detector. Have used the regular command strip (outdoor) for other applications. Some held and others fell. That is when i went to the heavy duty as above.

The double sided Gorilla Tape will hold really strong, but before you use it just make sure you don’t ever want to take the pictures down again.
Put the Double Sided Gorilla Tape between the alcohol cleaned vinyl and the Command Strips then hang the pictures.
I just used it last weekend to stick little plastic “self stick” bumpers to the back corners of the flat screen TV’s I installed on the boat.
The “self stick” plastic bumpers kept falling off. Put them back on with Gorilla Double Sided Tape and they aren’t coming off anymore.

Exactly what I did to hang a clock and picture on the vinyl.
