We are purchasing a 2017 350 SLX OB. This may sound like a silly question but how do I tow tubes and the like with it? Do I use a bridle attached to the rear cleats or tow from the canopy or what.

Thanks in advance,

Howard

I would think you would use a bridle long enough to clear your OB's.

Congratulations and welcome to CSR!

That is one sexy boat..except for that fender hanging off....Can’t wait to see more pics. Welcome to CSR

Yep. Weird setup. Restaurant docks had been destroyed. In order to stop in and eat, we had to tie bow line to docks and anchor in back. Fendor was for the boat that was beside me.

Got it! Just a weird pet peeve of mine with fenders on boat pics. That said if that was my boat and there was a boat next to me, I’d have 20 of those suckers hanging off the side. Can’t wait to hear more about your boat and of course, lots and lots of pictures!

Nice to see this thread get started. Thank you!

We have a 2015 SLX 350. Has been a learning experience, and have some issues keeping all the systems working. At the moment, our head is not producing any vacuum. Anyone been through this? Have verified all the plumbing is open between head and holding tank. Can you help me locate the vacuum pump?

Brand new member, here.

Selling my 2004 Scout, and have been eyeing up a 350 slx OB.

I was excited to stumble on this thread, but then seeing the 'threads' lifespan was only a month long, a year ago, ending with an unanswered question, i was disheartened.

Maybe a different thread became the go to, or just wasn't any traction?

Nonetheless, interested to learn what i can.

thanks.

As you say, this one just never took off.

Best of luck and welcome to CSR!

Reposting from the Who’s Who thread.... I just purchased an SLX 350 and am investigating the possibility of upgrading the berth to add an AC unit. Sea Ray sold a “Premium Berth Upgrade” option but this boat didn’t come with it. It has a tiny berth and the berth upgrade option included a 3500 BTU AC unit that runs off the inverter. My boat does have an inverter / grill and fridge. Any suggestions?

Hey Gary,

probably a costly upgrade but easily priced out , and a decent starting point. at least in terms of parts. marineMax (although I think they’re the absolute worst-ha) would probably be your first option for doing the work. Unless you have a searay-familiar service tech.
On Searay.com click into the menu and get to the ‘owners’ page, scroll to the bottom and you’ll see parts manual selection searchable by year and model, select your year and boat and page 7 or 8 (I think) is the entire AC system parts list.
Here is a link to a 2017 350slx. Upgrade your post signature while your at it so we know your boat year. Good luck, cheers.

New to the forums and to Sea Ray! Just bought a 2014 350SLX that I believe is loaded from an option standpoint. Grill and fridge don’t work but other than that it is a well cared for, clean boat. I removed the grill and found I had to replace the GFI cord powering the grill. $80 later and I have a working grill. The fridge is a different story as the condenser is rusted out, need to order a new one.

I was a bit disappointed that the 110 outlets only work on shore power even though I have an inverter. I found that the grill is actually plugged into a 110 outlet under the grill that is run off the inverter. So I cut a hole in the side of the grill enclosure and installed a 15A outlet wired to the same outlet. Now at least I have one 110 outlet powered while on the water for things like an air pump, phone charger, etc. Being a 2014 there are no USB ports.

@dukedrummer since you have had three 350SLX’s, have you ever covered the bow with a shade? I have the little umbrella thing but you know how effective that is. I’d love to get a shade that snaps onto the front of the hardtop and connects to 2 poles at the bow. I think newer 350’s had this as an option but not the 2014. Any ideas? I have the shure shade in back, it is awesome.

How much play in the steering wheel is normal?

I would love some pictures of your setup/wiring. My SLX boat does not have the inverter or grill, but I have considered adding it.

In yours, was the grill the only thing running off the inverter before you made the change?

Good question. Not sure! The grill is and the refrigerator is not (12volt). The grill plugs into an outlet under the grill that is wired to the inverter.
