Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Hey Guys, my amp / sub stopped performing, the light on the amp comes on when I turn on the roadview receiver in the kitchenette. How do I get it to play with the Clarion receiver like it used to just 2 weeks ago..prob something simple I can’t figure out :/

There are 4 rocker switches to the wall to the left going down steps into cabin. Two control speakers, 1 for cockpit, 1 for cabin. Others are for lights. I’d bet speaker switches are off.

While it's great that you found this and it will probably work I can tell you this was not the original. The original door was a powder coated metal frame with a sealing gasket.

Anyone replace the anchor light on top of boat with led? Maybe have a part number for both bulbs in there ( regular bulb part number) thanks so much

I did. There were two bulbs. I just took them out and went to Wal Mart and matched them with the same size LED bulbs. The originals were 10 watt bulbs and the LED’s were much less ..maybe 1.5 or 2 watts.

I have replaced mine with a 16,000 btu. We live in AZ and it is so much better! You will not be disappointed!
I'm planning on replacing my unit with a 16000 BTU unit. Any suggestions or lessons learned before I order a new one? I was planning on replacing it with a Dometic unit. Also, did you have to run new wiring for the new thermostat or did you just use the existing wire?

Just a little fab work needed to be done on the plenum (ducting out of the unit). Used tin snips and some alum tape. Use the thermostat that came with the unit as it was much better. All in all, took about 3-4 hours start to finish.

Good to know. Thanks for the tips.

Question on Grill Mounts. I have searched the forums but still have not found an answer. Anyone have suggestions on using at Rod-Holder Grill Mount with a camper top? The far back pole of the camper top is too close to Rod-Holder not allowing the Grill to sit level. See pic attached. I will take pics this weekend of the Grill against the top pole and update this post. Also do not like the idea of a hot grill sitting against the camper top pole. I know trunk rail handle mounts are an option but need to get in there for ropes/bumpers while rafting with friends. Any suggestions? I thought there would be an extension arm rod holder option but not finding one on the web. Also not ready to drill holes in the swim platform.....yet.

I had a fishing rod holder mount but didn’t like how it encroached on cockpit space while grilling. It also was a danger to my 2yo son when hot. I ended up mounting a pole mount to the edge of the swim platform which I absolutely love. It’s the perfect place to grill if you ask me. Recommend getting a little table to attach to the transom door handle if going this route.

Hey Guys, have any of you ever changed out your swim platform lights. Seemed like it was going to be an easy task but...I removed the screws from the housing and then pryed the back off the housing and there's just a grey inset that doesn't come out and the wiring from the boat and into the housing is not accessible it seems.

They are sealed units from the factory. Only way to replace them is the entire unit. You can also install under water lights in transom.
