Official 19SPX/21SPX/SPX190/SPX210 Thread

A million thankyous to this group. I found OEM speakers on eBay for $20. I think they sound fine, they match my cockpit speakers and look great. Wires were right there as described in previous posts.

Hey, Beaver Lake AR - WHAT MAKE OF BOAT LIFT IS THAT YOU HAVE THERE?????

Also...I just re read and you said your planning on using a bigger size diameter drill bit than the screw? Not sure why? If you do, then the screw will not have nothing to bite into? I think you may be confusing other posts about drilling larger holes into fiberglass in water prone areas. This is NOT the case here.

Oh gosh, Apologies - watching our yard wash into the river as a result of this Day #3 of 5 days of heavy rain had (has) me distracted - I meant to type “a drill bit only slightly LESS in diameter than the (whatever size) screw I use.” (I went back and corrected it)

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the help - funny how we can enjoy such a nice boat and yet get so excited about such a simple mod!

After suffering these past months with 4-letter words (rain, cold and work), we finally got the new 190 SPX in the water. Our maiden voyage went very well. Performance was better than expected. I only have 3 questions for the experts here:

1. My tach is off (high) by 11 % across the full range. That is comparing the rpm figures to Vessel View Mobile. Anybody else see a similar result?
2. My Simrad G05 won't read the depth when the water is shallower than about 6 feet. Is there something in the setup I need to change/
3. The Simrad setup requires selecting a specific transducer. Anyone know what particular model SeaRay uses?

TIA...

It was installed by Boat Dock World.

It was installed by Boat Dock World in Rogers, AR. Call Mark or Brandon at 479.381.3493. I was extremely happy with their work. The brand is Props Up. I included some pictures.

Beaver Lake AR, thanks for the info! (Our regional HydroHoist dealer damaged our dock structurally (owner is growing company too fast and making stupid mistakes blindly drilling 1/2” holes everywhere  ) so, I am on the hunt for a replacement system, when time comes ...)

Hey Jim. I’ve noticed it too. Dash gauge sometimes shows MUCH higher than Mercury Vessel View.

A little early but I hope you all have a safe and relaxing July 4th. Now...Let’s see your flags!

The mahogany flag pole has been on 3 different boats now. Never without a flag.

Happy July 4th! Anyone else have a difficult time (like 1/2 gallon at a squeeze) filling their fuel tank? I am thinking we have a sag in the vent hose but thought I would ask for other suggestions!

Also anyone know where the speedometer hose comes into the engine compartment. I have a blockage and need to try to blow it out. Already checked the out drive for any debris. I think something got in there last year and hardened while I. Storage this winter.

Does anyone else have this void on their transom?

I can't say I've ever looked that closely, but... it appears to be purposefully designed like that so the motor bracket doesn't contact the top cap/deck and damage it - the shoe box "lid", if you will. Boats are basically a shoe box - the hull is the box, the deck is the lid.

Yes it does look like it was designed that way. Seems like it should have been finished a little better.

Do you have anymore photos? Hard to see exactly where that is located. In any case, I’m pretty sure I don’t have any gaps like that around the engine mount, I’ll check next time I’m out

Mine looks just like your photo. I figure it is designed that way.

It is on the transom where the engine brackets hang from it. Just below the top of the transom.
