They do. I asked that as well and they special order that material. The teak and black is a stock material for them and the most popular in the midwest. My main question is whether they offer colors other than teak and black. That's a no go in Florida for me. Lt Grey and white is perfect.
The EVA foam/rubber looks amazing and its very good insulation for the heat but be careful putting chairs on top of it, even when the chairs have plastic caps on bottom, they can damage the EVA rubber.I am not a fan of carpet on the floor of the cockpit deck. So I purchased some EVA foam deck material from ebay and changed the whole look in a few hours. The material should stand up to sun, hose off easily with no staining and it's got some cushion to it as you walk on it. I think it looks a whole lot better than it did....
Before and after:
they do not have any product with a white substrate. Too bad. I'll just live with my DIY install.I guess I will call them. Their webpage contact form must not get checked, even though I'm sure it's just an email post.
I've had my first SeaDek/EVA issue with a very small torn peice. No chairs, just from foot traffic. Actually not sure why or when it happened. I just looked down and there it was. Fortunately the peice that came off was still there, so I'll try and glue it back on. I love the stuff, but now it has me wondering about it.The EVA foam/rubber looks amazing and its very good insulation for the heat but be careful putting chairs on top of it, even when the chairs have plastic caps on bottom, they can damage the EVA rubber.
BtW, it looks amazing !
I'm working on my 2nd season with it only on the swim steps with no issues, but you are right, it's not as robust as it could be... When it goes I'm thinking woven vinyl.I've had my first SeaDek/EVA issue with a very small torn peice. No chairs, just from foot traffic. Actually not sure why or when it happened. Plas Dek found the File! My buddy reminded me that two years ago he actually used my boat to make his template so it will fit perfectly. This will save a ton of work not to mention several hundred dollars and a few weeks of lead time not shipping templates back and forth. We are doing the cockpit, stairs and bridge and also the head soles. Ill post pics when complete along with our finishing touches on new upholstery on the bridge.Well we made the decision to go all in with PlasDek in Mahogany and Onyx instead of the EVA Foam product. Its more money but I've never had buyers remorse by going for the top shelf. My cruising buddy with the 420 did his, made his template and rolled it in himself and it looks fantastic. Unfortunately Plas Dek some how deleted his digitized template! I was hoping to just use his to save the work of making a template myself. If anyone out there did their 44 or 420 recently and is happy with the install I'd love to hear from you as Plas Dek folks may be able to find your template file to use. They have one on file but I don't really want to use it with out knowing the provenance.
Carpe Diem
We are looking to do the same (probably not this year) so I'm really looking forward to seeing how yours turns out. I've read all the threads and have a similar preference towards Plasdek vs the EVA. Interesting that you are doing your bridge - it seems that most use carpet but my wife questioned why we wouldn't do the bridge as well.Plas Dek found the File!
