Ok guys, hoping you can help here. Yesterday, the door handle going into the master head broke. I didn't have time to pull the Parts Manual (it's on the boat) and I am hoping someone here has access to it, so I can determine the correct part number to order for replacement.
I needed to purchase for the companionway head door. different door swing, but... Bought from fpmarine. Dave

Has anyone found a source for the SS “bullet” end caps on the lower aft rub rail above the water line?
I found them on Amazon, Look up White Water stainless hand rail end cap.
I used them for my second floor deck on our house to create a drink rail.

Edit: sorry I thought you said “ Hand rail “ not rub rail.. this would be the wrong part.

Did you get an answer to this? Mine will do something like that if I leave the VHF on (not on standby) and shut down the navigational system. The VHF looses the GPS data and alarms.

I haven't figured it out yet and didn't hear the alarm any this weekend. No electronics had been powered on for a few days the times I've heard it with the engines off so it is really strange.

What exactly broke? Sometimes this spring will come unhooked inside and leave the handle flopping. This is a relatively easy fix to get in there and reconnect. Cheaper than the ~$100 for a new mechanism.

Awesome, It sounded like a spring snapping closed, so maybe I can just pull it apart and reassemble. Worth the try before spending the money on the new assembly.
Thanks again for the responses. I really appreciate all of the help this forum has provided over the years, I just feel bad I don't often have a good response for the questions other raise.

Mine had a broken spring and it was a weird looking spring; door handle drooped down and would not latch the door - new latch assembly at FP for around $80

Anyone have to replace the remote start solenoid mounted on the starter? Do you know where to source and a part number?

Well, I tried to see if the spring was just unhooked or something. The door handle was just dropped, it doesn't return to the normal position. What is weird is I first check to see if the spring was unhook somewhere, but that didn't seem to be the case. So I check to see if I could see any broken parts but didn't, not in the door or in the latching mechanism.
Looks like I will be ordering a new one. It is the master head door, which swings open to the left. I just need to determine the correct part number to order, considering the way the door swings open.

I had the same issue and couldn't determine how it broke or what was missing. On FP website there is a chart which determines the part based on swing.

Thanks. I just placed the order, the website had options for right or left hand swing. Once I get the new one, I will take a close look at how the mechanism is assembled and maybe I can fix the one with the issue and keep it as a spare. My boat is 17 years old now and I expect other doors to have issues in the future.

Good afternoon, as far as you alarm noises going off. We have a 2003 48 DB with the Cummins engines. There has always been an issue with having to use the crossover to start both engines. I did not realize this, but our particular boat is only a 12 volt system. People I have talked to, like electronics people and mechanics were surprised at this a d said it should be a 24 volt system. Nonetheless, I'm in the middle if figuring out if I need to add more battery power. We have a Simrad system that was installed in 2016. The radar needs so much power to start. I cannot get it to start, I find, unless it's got enough voltage. Is anyone se experiencing this issue with their boats with the Cummins engines?

Yea - I ended up taking the thing apart to determine the spring was actually broken even though each end was still looked "hooked". You need three hands to get it back together BTW...… And it was on my MSR Head also.

I think I've found the source of the alarm. I was able to catch the "FWD bilge pump alarm" going off on the systems monitor while running last weekend. This is under what Gary calls the "bunk of funk" in the STBD side stateroom. Apparently the A/C unit drain was clogged and the pan had overflowed into the sump which is normally bone dry.

Sorry, I can't offer any help with your voltage issue.

Question does the floor in the saloon of a sedan bridge lift up to make easier access to the starboard motor

Steve Brisbane Australia

Bridge AC our ac on the bridge seems to have trouble keeping up as the outside temp rises. Even with the fan at full speed it does not seem to blow with any force. Any ideas ?
