Throwing Serpentine Belts

You can get replacement alternators with the pulley from DB Electrical cheaper than pulleys alone.

Not sure if your talking to me but I'm not the guy with the problem. Trimming and shimming works

More just putting it out on the ether as you were both talking about shimming. Really, though that's all the bulletin is about. No mention of trimming, but they are happy to sell you a spacer of what they consider to be the right thickness. I think it was something like $10 per engine for a relatively thick spacer.

Bob, in a desperation move, I ordered the spacer tonight. Need to resolve this asap so I can move on to other pressing needs on the boat.

DB electrical products are all Chinese crap and rust quickly. There's a reason they're cheap.

As far as the trim and shim goes...If all your pulleys have to align with the crank and you alternator sticks out further than that pully, how's a spacer going to fix your problem ?

yup. I shoot em with corrosion block, and replace them every 3-4 years. My factory Motorola alts were both bad after 300 hours (over 20 years). Heat kills all of them.
