Bromine Boys... after a few years the strainer basket will eventually fail... took 8 years for mine to fail...

Never an issue of growth...

Agreed!!

Using Bromine tablets as well, all stays clean. I rather replace strainer baskets every few years then have to do the whole Barnacle Buster regiment. And my baskets look great still but only been about a year.

I just got my 4# pail of tablets - I put them in when I finished blowing the system out. I simply didn't realize that these systems need to be kept after - especially with year round boating (warm water). It never dawned on me that they system would get growth. Easy enough to take care of - but a learning, none the less.

I thought I read at one time that prolonged use of Bromine could cause failure of the solder joints in the condenser/exchanger along with strainer basket deterioration?
NEVER have I heard of a failure related to bromine use. Look at whats in Barnacle buster .. that's some nasty stuff. Bromine would be like the organic equivalent lol … Seriously .. its fine … Not like ur winterizing sealed in the system.

IDK how u guys do it in fl and alike .. I see boats that look like they have never been used and its only a few weeks of idle time....

Good luck

This time of year requires near constant maintenance - I dive the boat every other week. Even then - it's still a bid dodgy. In fairness though - the boat is ready for a short haul and repaint.

Need help. On the hook for weekend and not close to anything. Fresh water pump blew fuse (hopefully). Admiral had everything playing plus and we lost it but I don’t know where the fuse is for this. Manual is ridiculous. Help please

This is a guess...was/is there a fuse at the pump on the red wire? Just a guess.

If there is an inline fuse, it’s buried internally. There must be a fuse that is accessible. The manuals are useless and I’m clueless so pretty bad combination.

I am not familiar with your model and have no idea what maybe wrong with your pumps, but this might get you started in the right direction if it’s a fuse problem.
My electric panel swings open on a hinge after removing some screws. Behind the panels 12v switches are all the fuse holders for each 12v circuit. In my case I would trace the wire from the pump breaker to the appropriate fuse holder.

Be carefully of the 120v side of the panel. Don’t want any fireworks back there. Good luck

Good plan. Thanks

Your boat has a breaker for the fresh water pump on the 12 volt panel. Re-cycle that breaker and see if it works. Sometimes a tap on the pressure sensor near the pump will get it going also.

Ok. I have recycled the breaker several times. I’ll go tapping and thanks

Tapping worked!! Great advice on percussive mechanics. Saved much of the weekend. Thanks again. Love this forum!!

I am such a dink. Before ordering it online from your link which is the best replacement, I went to West Marine (4 blocks from marina) where it's retail plus 30%. Paid $259.00 + tax for it. Replaced in 20 minutes. Could not wait. Next time, I will wait. Duh!
West Marine does a price match up to 30 days after purchase from local stores as well as some online retailers, just an fyi.

Thanks for that. I will gladly try. Jaybeaux had the right answer.

I also went up a size when I replaced mine. I also eliminate the accumulator tank which cleaned things up and had no impact on the water flow or pressure.
