I have this pushed silk type valance around the cabin and master that I think really dates the boat and could be an easy fix over the winter. Has anyone tackled this project?..... I don't have a great pic ... Just above the TV... Right and left

You think that looks dated? Man...you should come hang out on my 97 for a weekend. :):)

In all seriousness it looks like a pretty straight forward winter project. Head on over to sailrite and get your materials and machine! If it were me I'd just cover it rather than remove/replace.

Betting that valance thing comes off pretty easy. I changed put the galley cbnets on my 400DA. No to bad Once you figure out the way SeaRay screwed things together. Just keep picking at it.

I've done things similar - not those exact pieces in your model, but similar pieces in other boats, including my own. As mentioned, it's usually a pretty easy removal. Usually it's either brackets behind the piece and/or possibly screws in between some of the pleats. There would either be an overlap of material that you can separate, or sometimes a small slit where the screw head is. Typically, you can feel if there are any screws along the face by poking around and moving the material and/or just feeling for the screw heads.

Now, what you replace it with is obviously a personal preference. My opinion? A black vinyl - maybe a satin-type sheen. Simple, unobtrusive and will never go out of style. Add a little foam if you want to give it a softer appearance.

Wood screws concealed in fabric seams likely hold it up. Very easy to reupholstere once you locate the screws.

I had the factory-standard "90's Dog Vomit" pattern. Seriously, it was ugly in 1997!

I could NOT figure out how to remove the upper stateroom valance panels. I knew to look for screw heads hidden in the folds, but the fwd ends seemed to have screws coming from the other side of the fwd bulkhead.

A friend of mine found a way to cover it instead. Huge improvement.

The Mrs. didn’t like the curtains in our 1990 310, she pulled them down. Now I’ll need to get creative to repair some of the hangers. Guess I may need to buy some tools to do the job. Always need new tools!!!!!

We replaced our curtains with blinds... I really like the change made a big improvement to the look.

yeah, not a big fan of it either. Figured it was the best they could come up to conceal the seam. I've thought of adding a strip of cherry to match the rest of the cabin similar to some 48's I've seen but seem like a huge undertaking. Interesting to see what can be done.

I got them at Blind saver but look around for the cheapest price. The color from Levolor was the only color that matched...out of all the blind manufacturers and of course it was a premium blind and stain... Little over $500 for both... not pretty.
Ours are not secured at the bottom...You can Velcro them down but in our case they aren't going anywhere, plus you could pull them up as well.

Levolor Premium 1" Real Wood Blinds
Color: Cherry 110MS001

Thanks! I just ordered a sample from them and I’m going to run it by the Admiral to see what she thinks.

I've got similar blinds that came factory installed on my Four Winns. No longer available from them (they also switched to shades the next model year). They really give the boat an elegant look.
