Yacht Controller & Stern Thruster

We recently completed the addition of the Yacht Controller and Stern Thruster to our boat - it really is pretty amazing to run the boat completely by yourself -

What did you already have on the boat (bow thruster?) and what was added? What was the cost? (if you don't mind me asking) I am in the process of purchasing a 2006 44db and had considered that addition. Currently the boat only has the bow thruster.

Rob - we had a 400 Sedan Bridge for many years and did not have a bow or stern Thruster and did pretty well running the boat single handed - although it would have been great to have a bow thruster at times - the 58 DB had a Bow Thruster and worked great but by adding the stern Thruster and the yacht controller i can really run the boat by myself with more confidence - would try the stern thruster first
cost installed will be about 10,000 is my guess

Hey Rob, You will not need the stern thruster on the 44. The bow thruster is very effective and the props have enough authority to move the boat laterally in most conditions. A remote that operates both makes single handing and line adjustment a breeze. I don't think I ever said to myself in the past five years of ownership "I wish I had a stern thruster". There will be plenty of things to spend extra boat bucks on, don't worry One thing that I will be doing however is adding the six blade anti cavitation prop to add authority and noise reduction.
