That’s not a very flattering pic ....This is a pic of her on a better day. It is amazing to listen to the stories of her and other nurses, techs and doctors....these people go thru hell emotionally....be it anxiety or depression or just plain scared.... she has one nurse friend who quit over the fear... But the rest know it’s what they signed up for... and they are determined to help at

These are the real heroes.
When my wife intubates her Covid patients she has to fully gown up, almost like hazmat suits. They have 34 cases with two deaths.

There's talk front line workers will be getting hazard pay in the phase 4 relief bill.

She is a beautiful woman and an American hero.
She’s lucky to have taken after her mother:rolleyes:

My observations as of today (Nassau county Long Island) : went to go pick up some food provisions from a local place, curbside pick up , and on my way to the store I passed a house a few blocks from me with three ambulances in front pulling people out on stretchers don’t know what was going on but can only assume with what is currently plaguing our area and might be COVID-19 related . Passed an urgent care as well had an ambulance out in front picking somebody up and transporting them to the hospital with a line out the door of people waiting to get in. I’ve been avoiding the news lately for the gloom and doom but I must say that on social media friends of mine are reporting family members that have passed away ,young and old from this virus and I am just baffled at the reports that I am seeing from friends and it is surreal . So I reached out to family and friends that are working in local hospitals and they are telling me that they are absolutely overrun, my cousin who is a pharmacist at Winthrop told me it is a scary scene. and my friend who’s a vascular surgeon at LIJ said that they are becoming overwhelmed. It’s been three weeks since three homes on my block were quarantined after being confirmed positive for COVID-19 and I believe they have recovered. The last week there have been a lot of ambulances ripping all around my town and it’s making me paranoid. For the last two weeks all gun shops are pretty much sold out of guns and ammo , lines were wrapped around the buildings they are all closed now except for LEO . I think we will see the peak in the next week or so in my area ... I hope and pray . Stay well my friends

What town are you in?
Main Street in Farmingdale is a ghost town.
Lots of people took advantage of the beautiful weather Friday and were walking around in the fresh air. That was good to see.
Boatyard was buzzing too that day.
Everyone was giving others plenty of safe space too.
Hoping we get another decent day or two this week.
The rainy and gloomy weekend sucked! Today and tomorrow don’t look much better.

Cases: 139,675
Deaths: 2,436

If not for our leaders and physicians this number at this time right now could have been far far worse. There’s no escaping the consequences of this disease in a country as large as ours.

We have people on this forum I know have lost loved ones. Let’s please be sensitive in our remarks to each other from now on.

I’ll start w myself.

We’re a much more free society than some others. While that’s a great thing, a downside is that people who don’t embrace the whole social distancing thing are free to put themselves and others in danger.

My niece is an ER RN in a Phoenix area hospital. She gets one mask a day, and keeps it in a fast food burger clamshell when she's not wearing it.

My daughter is back to a lunch bag with her name on it

Several people have pm’d me so I’ll provide this perspective.

Fact vs Fear stat:
In California 700 people die every day of other causes.
Of those 700, 2 (two) die of Corona.

You may think that’s low, you may think it’s high.

In addition, analytics are now showing that as high as 50% of those who died from Corona were already terminal. They were going to die anyway.
IF, this trend continues then the mortality rate will calculate much closer to the seasonal flu. Not quite as low but well below 1%.

The data coming is being run through analytical algorithms daily multiple times.

The new cases reported are increasing daily now that we are testing up to 50,000 people w symptoms today.

Total deaths US 2599.
