The "virus" What are your thoughts

I don't know if I posted it somewhere here or not. But a friend of ours ended up in the hospital on ventilator. He got it playing cards with friends. He is a cancer survivor. He came off the ventilator today. Should be home next week. Simply unbelievable.

Yes, he's lucky. But like most cancer survivors, they typically have weakened immune systems, so that accounts for the need of a ventilator more likely.

I just can't believe what I'm reading....

What a mess....

On a side note, if you're a small business owner talk to your banker about the SBA PPP program and see if you qualify.
There are no qualifications other than size of company. There are a few glitches though. SBA wants the banks to certify the numbers and if the mess up they won’t be reimbursed by the government upon forgiveness. And if the loan isn’t forgiven it’s a two year term. A lot of what ifs. Hopefully it gets cleared up this week.

We spend 90 days in the winter in Panama. 90 days is as long as you can drive as a tourist there.
All this virus stuff happened in less than a week in Panama.
The government shut down Copa Airlines without notice and closed all airports with 2 days notice. One is either impressed with how they did it without protest or is concerned they were able to do without great political debate. I was impressed with how quick the government moved to limit peoples movement and at the same time were able to do it without citizens protesting. Based on how they acted I would assume they will have less problems than other countries. This is our story.

Here's some good readin'.......click this link and 'read the full report'.

Protective medical equipment (such as masks), medicines, disinfectant, and soap are needed to tackle the Coronavirus. Many countries source these medical supplies from abroad and so trade policy stance becomes part of national policy responses to the Coronavirus.

Cuomo is restricting DOCTORS from PRESCRIBING the medicine.

That drug is being used by doctors for COVID-19 all over the country and globally.

If you live in NY and get sick and your doctor wants to prescribe it guess what? Cuomo will not allow your doctor to treat you w it.

Hope you’re not in NY.
This is happening in most states. I am in MN and while there is no executive order for this all the health systems are reserving it for patient's who need to be in the hospital. If you take it for Lupus or RA you can get a two week supply. Stop listening to Fox News.

Just don’t understand why hospitals are laying people off.

There are ways to separate positive patients.

What about all the regular patients that need care?
What do you mean "regular patients"? If you break a leg, have a heart attack you will still get care. My hospital does the 2nd highest ortho surgery in the state of MN. It is a HUGE money maker for us and we aren't doing any unless its an emergency. We have Physical Therapists who are being trained as Inpatient Pharmacy Technicians so when we lose some to being sick we can use them. No colon/endoscopic procedures....again big money not being made.

Hillsborough County and the state of Florida have newly recognized religious services as “essential” activities after a Florida pastor was arrested for holding service.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a media conference on Thursday that closing churches was unconstitutional and “we can’t start ripping up the Constitution,WFTS-TV reported.

DeSantis explained that people need religious services, though he encouraged houses of worship to adhere to recommended guidelines, holding online services or ensuring that people stay six feet apart from one another for in-person services.

Hillsborough County’s Emergency Policy Group expanded on the guidelines, asking people to adhere to public health experts’ recommendations.

“Religious Services are considered an essential activity under” DeSantis’ “stay-at-home” order, the guidance read.

Nope this is a win for our constitution.

And let me be clear, I'm not a religious person, but I will defend the constitutional rights that all of us are afforded. We cannot begin letting government to start ignoring the constitution under any circumstance, because once the camel gets his nose under the tent........

It’s not being denied by most states. It’s prescribed to patients in early to mid stage sometimes w Zithromax.
Why do you inject political assumptions by invoking Fox News?

I have 3 clinical cardiology credentials. I understand what this doctor is describing.

Treatment of hypoxia is very different from treatments for pneumonia.

They are the ones touting how it’s a life saver. Plus tons of prescribers were writing rxs for themselves and family to stock up. We had to shut that down in MN. And it was happening all over the country.
