2020 Splash/Maiden Voyage Pics

We got the hull polished last weekend.

Thanks to my two boys we made short order of wash, cleaner and two coats in just an afternoon.

Welcome back to the water!
BTW: Typed questions to town last week, these were their answers.
Tobay opening on 5/9, renewal applications being mailed this week, can’t go to Town Hall (North or South) to renew in person but they will honor last year’s card throughout May.

I've wanted to stop following this thread six times now...but your pictures keep bringing me back! Cold snap on the way for Michigan but I'm still hoping to launch this week. You guys are lucky to be in...jealous...

Your time is coming Stee6043;)

Up north here, we refer to "Splashing" as dropping the boat in the water for the first time for the season coming of the hard ground storage.

I know Kevin, I was just joking around because we're spoiled down here but I remember in DE after the bay ice melted it was time to splash:D I sometimes think we used our DA up north more than our boat down here now because the waiting made it MUCH more exciting. Now I splash my hotrod boat more often and go run 100 mph because it's easier.....lol

Launched Tuesday and maiden voyage yesterday and back home today. Beautiful days on the water.

Nice! Looks like you were at Portside, I thought KI was closed except for residents?

Where is your home dock? Looks like it was just upgraded.

No sport boats here but I love "splashing" my Jeep JKU through big puddles when not on one of the boats. The big tires kick off more water than my boats bow.

Portside is our home dock. That dock is Pier 53 in Catawba. They just made those docks over the winter. They are very nice. I'm transient there for another week or two then we'll be at Portside for the rest of the year.

I am in. Let the season begin. Too bad it will be blowing 30 with gusts of 40 this weekend so getting it back to MA for Mother’s Day won’t happen but we can enjoy it here for now.

Thanks for starting this thread!. Still don't know our launch date, but this spring polar vortex sitting on top of the Great Lakes at least means I don't feel like I am missing much (yet). Warm up starts next week I guess. Canadian Victoria Day long weekend is coming 16th to 18th and that is normally the first boating weekend for me anyway. Hopefully the marina will be open but I doubt we'll be launched. There were virtually no boats launched before they had to close.

I have to say, looking at the pictures posted thus far, the mid 90s to early 2000 Sea Rays have beautiful lines from all angles. I know some love the new euro style. I like the inside of the new ones, but the outside profiles not so much. I still think our years are some of the nicest looking boats on the water.

Splashed this week. Unfortunately the weather sucks for the next 7 days.
