Calling all 360 DA owners

I also had replaced my MPS-50 about 8 years ago and it lasted just a year. So I have wired the frig 7 years ago and freezer 5 years ago to DC only by passing the AC converter on the back side of both units. They have worked great since doing so. Very easy to do. We are on the anchor quite a bit and have had no issues. Hope you get yours resolved!

Dennis...did you just connect the fridge and freezer to the terminal block mounted on the wall behind them? So you leave your DC switches on for both appliances when you leave the boat?

Only a weekend project if you want an excuse to be on the boat. 15 minutes tops including removing the old one. Only tool needed is a channel lock to tighten the faucet nut. Hose is a hand nut.
Faucet install complete! piece of cake. 15 minutes like you said. Love the look! Changed all the cup holders to stainless as well, so it all blends nicely. Should have changed that faucet sooner! Thanks again for the feedback and the Amazon lead.
Will tackle the generator next.... :(

I probably have the same problem as my frig only cools if I turn on the DC switch. Works fine that way though so I have never bothered to test the AC Converter.

Hi all, we've run across a 2003 running 8.1s with DTS. I can't find in the literature that was even an option in 2003. Added at a later date I'm assuming? Pictures of the helm station don't show obvious signs of refit. Beyond having a single lever for both engine and transmission, what would be the advantage? Thanks

Bottom Line,
Sorry for the delayed response. Been in the bilge alot with injector and aftercooler issues. When I put a volt meter on the converters, I only got around 5 volts when I was running off the batteries.
Yes the DC frig & freezer switch on the DC panel is left on and I use the thermostats in the units to turn them on and off. The boat sits in the canal behind our house, so I don't keep the units on when we aren't using the boat.
I disconnected the AC wires from the AC converters and removed them from the units.
Then I attached the DC wires to the block on the back of the units. Simple!
Good luck with your project.

Does anyone know where the engine synchronizer connects to the engine in the 8.1 Mercruiser? The synchronizer manual says it is supposed to go around a spark plug wire however I don't see anything on either engine. There are wires connected properly on the synchronizer side however I can't find the sensor on the engine side. Are there any other specific places to look?

Anyone know how to remove the shower door track on the ceiling in the head? The track for the main door has separated towards the back (the end of the track when the doors are fully open). I see where on one side of the track there is a screw head that is accessible to tighten. On the other side, however, only the nut is exposed. There is no access to the screw head without pulling the whole track system down. There is a decorative trim piece that, in mine, is glued or caulked into place. Anyone have this same issue? Thoughts on how to get to this?

You also need to know if you have the AccuSync or the Gendinning as both we installed on Sea Rays. I have the AccuSync on my '03.

Does anyone know if the original Westerbeke Generator can run the original AC unit? I tried to start mine up and the fan comes on but as soon as the compressor kicks in, it immediately kicks off as if the generator isn’t able to handle the start up load. Wanted to know if before I start trouble shooting further.

I should mention the AC Unit works great on shore power.

Check gen. rpm's, output voltage and hertz.

My A/C runs on the genny without issues. watch your ammeter on your power panel when the A/C compressor kicks on and see if you can see a spike before it drops out.

I did watch as the compressor kicks on and the ammeter goes off the chart for a brief second, at the same time the compressor kicks off, its so fast that I can’t say at what amps the compressor kicks off.

I start my genny, shut off all AC breakers Including the mains. I then kick On only the breakers I want. I limit the draw an the genny this way. I can only run AC or water heater and not both. I also can only run the microwave and not AC or water heater. Ive had the genny checked and all is well. Its just not enough to run everything at the same time

If clicking it is bad, you can also plug in the frig power for 10 min test the freezer. Just went through this issue last month.

I've replaced my plugs and wires and don't have the cables that go around the plug wires. There must be a connection to the low voltage side of one of the coil packs. I'm not sure. I'll check my documentation and reply.
Thanks, I will check to see if that is the case
