Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

Yes, EFI. As always, appreciate your input. Glad you’re still in touch. How’s the 410?

anytime. We love it, and really love the diesel power. I'm working my way through some maintenance, new gauges and toys, etc, but that was to be expected when getting into a new boat. In some ways I'm looking forward to the winter to do some outstanding preventative maintenance and get the gelcoat up to our standards in the spring.

See the link below for what your oil pressure sender looks like. Lucky for you the senders are on the port side of each engine, just below the exhaust manifold and screwed into the block. On the starboard engine you can easily get a look at the sender by getting in between the engines. I'd check the wires there first.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying the new boat, and I’m sure you’ll keep yourself busy all winter with projects, which you obviously enjoy. Good for you, keep us posted.

Thanks for the picture, and location of the oil pressure sender. I can definitely find that and check the wire there first. Did you just know the location from experience, or did you find that info somewhere, like a manual, etc?

Yeah just from experience but you can get the service manual online and download it in pdf.

I think this #24 covers your engine, you can find the bravo 2 manual out there too

Awesome, I’ll be all over that manual. I have a 2001, but it might be the same as 99. I’ll check that website. Thanks very much.

Boatinfo.no is where all the merc manuals are. It’s a weird site to navigate but they’re all there

Oh good, my pleasure to give back for all the advice! The new flooring is supposedly being installed today...I'll post some pics when it's done.

What was final cost for it
$2975 total, including all labor. They did two paper dry fits, and made CAD adjustments each time, to get it just right.

All I did was clean the deck ahead of time (which, because of those carpets, might’ve been more labor than the install, haha!)

Does anyone have any suggestions on cleaning and maintenance of these EVA floors?

I use any mild boat cleaner for daily, dawn for tougher stains or greasy stains, and even used acetone very sparingly on a rag to get rid of some oil stains.

twice a year I pressure wash it with the gentle attachment.

I paid $30 for the special aquamarine cleaner and it smells like dawn with fabric softener, so I’ll skip buying that again. A good medium bristle brush on a pole will be your friend

Thanks Ryan, that was exactly the type of advice I was looking for. Always appreciated!
