I am kicking around the idea of reupholstering my bridge and cockpit and looking for some ideas. If anyone has pictures of the ones they have done as well as the colors you used I would like to see how you did it. I would like to get new stidd helm chairs and have them covered to match also while I’m doing this project so I wanting to make sure I get it right. Thanks all!

We’re in the process now with our current boat. We just did our Stidd seats. You may not need new seats. We bought completely new cushions from them. The cushions are made to order. You can use the “fabric” they use (Ultraleather), or you can supply your own. We went with a new ultraleather color/pattern for the cushions and are having our helm deck cushions done this winter with the same fabric. Ultraleather is used by other companies beside Stidd for boat seating.

The original material used on our boat had been discontinued, so we contacted Ultraleather directly. We asked for their recommendation for the closest current material match to our original. Stidd had given us the original spec from the chair serial numbers. Ultraleather sent us about a dozen swatches using the best match to the original and then possible alternative shades and textures. We picked one and gave the material number to Stidd when we placed the order.

The cushions were $1400 per chair set vs $8500 for a complete chair for the seats that came with our Sabre. We have the low back Admiral on telescoping pedestal. You can also buy metal parts as well if something is scratched.

Pics of this needed, Henry! Either here or the other place.

I redid our cockpit, helm etc..... we opted to keep it original. My thinking there was resale. I just didn’t want to take a chance on not appealing to the masses. Sea Ray did a good job of that...in my opinion

We redid our cockpit and helm 4 years ago and simply updated the color pattern to one that's used on the newer Sea Rays circa 2014. We kept the same white/oyster at the helm for the bench and chair and went with white and two tones of tan/brown for the cockpit. If I can find the pics I'll post some.

I haven’t purchased the stidd seats yet so I will be able to get the ultra leather to match the rest of the boat. I still need to find a boat show to sit in these to convince they are worth the expense.

I agree with you on the resale aspect of this. I did my Meridian 411 several years ago and did it in the brown and white contrasting colors they were putting in the new boats at the time. I loved it but now it would be a what were you thinking moment. I’m thinking a little subtle change though that will still appeal to the masses.

I was thinking Stidd as well. I 100% agree that my butt needs to sit in them first.

I redid mine about 4 years now I think it adds value to the boat

I am not redoing Upholstry but my sunpad cover is failing and needs a new covering. It is black now along with the rest of the canvas. I am going to use Sunbrella Peyton grey to give the boat a little flair. The bench seat is the Peyton grey. The other pic is and example of the look I am going for. I think subtle changes to something like this or the Upholstry makes the boats much more updated. One thing I think looks great these days is not a color change but change the pattern of the stitching. Kind of like this lounger. It is still basic while but stitching gives it some style.

I agree 100% on the diamond stitch when you are keeping the same white..it can make it look more sophisticated and up to date... not a fan of color

We redid our cockpit and bolsters to match the original. For resale as others have said. Colors are trendy but have a tendency to not age well. We also recovered the bolsters either side of the forward bed. We did them in matching ultrasuede.

This is a huge project unless your a pro seamstress. We had ours done to update them here’s the colors for reference. As you can see the Capt chair has the Furuno auto pilot built into the arm (pure laziness) the colors look great against the Blue Hull. I re-read your post I dont know why I thought you wanted to do the work my apologies.
Ps. We also had Velcro cushioned pads made for the hard top support where guests always hit their heads. Just an idea to think about

Sorry, I misunderstood. That being the case, my understanding is they will make the seats for you using your choice of materials. If you are interested you should contact them directly. They are more than helpful.

After having Stidd seats for two seasons I can tell you they are worth every penny. Trying them out at a boat show will prove they are comfy, but they really shine under harsh conditions. The big thing besides comfort is they are adjustable, and once set they are solid. Once latched down there is no motion in the chair. The best I can describe it is kind of like being in an old fashioned barber chair.

The angled settee cushions are being done now, so no pictures yet. I know I took pictures of the Stidds but can’t find them. They may be still be on one of the chips for the camera. I’ll post them sooner or later. Does the 37 have pedestal seats or ones added onto the cabinets?
