Do RV campgrounds usually have the connections/hoses to empty a boat black water tank? I've never used a campground, but I need to empty mine. I'm on a trailer.

I was afraid of that. Thanks.

Any other alternatives?

Call the portajon guys they can vacuumed out your black tank. Or a septic company.

If this is something you plan on doing again - pumping out at home, you could make a setup for at home. I forget what I called it, but do a title search for something like "home pump out" and use my name as a qualifier in the search. If I remember correctly, there were two parts/threads.

Thanks. Hopefully this is a one shot deal for this year. Next year she'll be in the water and I can just pull up to a dock. There's a few marinas about 1/2 hour from my house that have pump outs. The place where I picked my boat up from has one that's accessible with my trailer.

If all you are worried about is freezing put some pink propylene glycol in the tank. Or lots of cheap vodka.

Thanks. I want to re-plumb it also. The PO was definitely not into making things look good in the engine bilge area. It's a bit of a hassle, but I'll just tow it to the marina and empty it that way.

If you have a shop vac, that does work well in a pinch, don’t ask how I know....then empty it into your sewer clean out stand pipe. Took all of about 5 minutes.

Can you discharge overboard? Put a 5gal bucket under the overboard discharge and empty the bucket as necessary into your sewer cleanout.

You can pump out to ocean on west coast if you are off shore by set distance. Pump outs in Washington are excellent so no need. I had suction hose fail once and used shop vac. You dispose of shop vac after. On the hard we had porta potty suck us out once

Thanks guys. Not an emergency. I'm just towing it to the marina and taking care of it there. A little further away, but not a big deal.

Wow, I'm trying to picture the shop vac thing and that just can't end well...LOL.
