Yearly Bravo 3 mainenance - splitting open drives ?

So, I clean, paint, replace anodes yearly but have been hearing that internal corrrosion is an issue also. That barnacle build up happens inside. Does anyone have opinion on weather splitting open the OD's is recommended and what type of cleaning you should do if you split them apart?

I’ve split my outdrive during the winter. Usually find 5-6 barnacles inside the waterway. If you look close at the small inlet holes on the lower unit, you may be able to see them if you have them.

I don’t have any internal corrosion issues. I just scrape the barnacles off and apply Trilux 33 to the inside of the water passage.
