I have a Garelick adjustable seat pedestal for the helm chair. It is the pneumatic style with the thin handle on the left side that you pull up do adjust.

It will not move up nor down. Anyone got any experience with these? Had same on the 44DB and never an issue. Any help much appreciated.

There are a a couple things it could be.

There might be a locking mechanism, but I cant recall if that the elevation or on the swivel side of things.

The lever that contacts the gas cylinder may be bent

The gas cylinder may be stuck/frozen or it may just be bad. I think I found the gas cylinder for mine at one point, but it was like $400, so I passed. Here is the website I bookmarked for the gas spring...I dont remember the exact part #...

I am sure you checked the Lever that keeps the seat from swiveling. That pressure will keep the seat from raising as well.

If you need a new pedestal see the below post. I have two of them in my garage for sale.

There is a piston inside the base that may just need a little nudge. I took mine apart when it wasn’t working and once I got to that piston with a shot of wd 40 it broke lose quickly. Hope it works this easy for you.
I went to my boat today to do some odds and ends. I pulled and pushed on the lever and nothing, looks like I need get a little lubricant and see if I can get mine to move.

That’s better deal than the gas spring...

Thanks for the comments and advice. I think I will commence to taking it apart and I may PM you Charles for anymore advice. The seat is in the swiveling/rotating position. I had the same ones on the 44DB. This boat is a real challenge....

Thanks,
Bennett

I will keep you in mind if I do not get this one going.

Thanks for the offer....

ok I misspoke also, what I was referring to is not the lever it is more of a clamp the applies pressure to the entire post to keep it secure in rough water.

Ok, now you have my curiosity up...there are 3-adjustment devices that I am aware of...1) The lever you pull up for the piston to go up/down, 2) the knob that you pull out to slide the seat forward/aft, and 3) the handle you pull out to allow the seat to rotate.....what is this clamp you speak of?

Noted in the attached diagram as the "Cam Lock." If this is tight it could keep the seat from raising, lowering or pivoting I believe...

The height adjustment lever rocks down on a button on top of the gas spring that releases the spring to go up and down. Check this adjustment and lubricate this button. This is all mine was. Hopefully yours too. If you do have to dig deeper be careful pulling the 2 round base sections apart. There is about 10 plastics dowels inside that will not go back very easily. I learned the hard way.

I will remove the seat slide and dig down to the top of the piston this weekend and see what I have. Thanks!
