The down side of the aft cabin 506 is the steep tall stairs from the boarding platform. The wife and I are in decent shape but navigating the stairs especially after a few rounds at the club can be let’s call it less than optimal. I am building a standard tread set of stairs to board the boat by way of the door on the raised side walk. The terriers will be able to board on their own now as well.

Have a set of steps for the 390MY we are selling. Very handy to use and no vinyl or snaps tp mess with.

Several of the stair sets at our marina have stick-on LED lights added to the steps. Definitely helps for those late evening strolls up/down the stairs :)

Nicely done! I like the idea of creating storage inside too.

The one attachment I left here, which is your bottom pic has a nice stack of cash in it. You’ll need it.

Nice work.

Nice work, your own work?

Looks good. Consider the possibility of putting and access door on the side to store a few odds and ends in - fenders, power cables, hoses etc.

I was thinking about that but I try not to have too much stuff at the marina in general. Plus it would be another place to collect stuff that would be covered in dust or be a welcome respite for critters. I sheeted it with T1-11 for sheer strength and it is solid!
Next is to install a cool rope hand rail with SS Stanchions made from a past davit design that didn’t work out and install some solar powered lighting

Built it myself, still needs final paint.
All in just under $500 in materials and three short evenings in the shop.
I put a few screws into the dock to keep things from kicking out on mine. Those look great.

My goodness stairway to heaven a elevator would be nice for those little doggies lol

Nice work and a beautiful boat.
Wife and I are looking at 420 Aft cabins and might have to do something similar but we have million year old, super narrow fixed height catwalks.
At a minimum it would have to be 2 sided.
Now ya got me thinking.......

1 inch dock line hand rail stanchions welded and ready for polishing, gonna be a swanky set of stairs when I’m done.

Thanks! They do draw positive comments as well as requests to duplicate for others. I already have a job though

Nice work, how do you get on the boat when not at your home dock? Do you have a portable staircase?

There are stairs built in to the transom, they are quite steep with tall a tall rise that the dogs can’t use. Also going down after a few cocktails could be dangerous.
They are fine for occasional use.
