Hello

Just purchased a used 2004 sea ray 215 weekender and have a few questions. Didn’t buy it from a dealer and the person we purchased it from only had for a year and only used it once.

1. I can’t seem to figure out how to get water into the head. I tried a few switches and pressed the pump with no luck. I found the switch for the stern shower, but not luck with the head. Please note, this boat does have the pump out option too.

2. there is a switch which looks like a water tank with two errors pointing in on each side. What does this do? It lights up when pressed and I hear a sound, but can’t figure out what it does.

3. there is a water Spicket on the swim deck. Is this for water hook up while in slip to bypass the pump? I found the fresh water tank fill which works with pump.

4. there is a port with cover “perk” anyone know what this is? Pictures attached.

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ozzie

1. Not sure what you mean by "pressed the pump". Do you have a porta-potti or a vacuflush? PP... manually fill. VF... lift up on the pedal. For what it's worth, I didn't think a Vacflush was even available.

2. That turns on the fresh water pump.

3. Do you mean a shower wand type thing? A "spigot" entails a place where water come out... you're asking about getting water "in". Pic needed.

4. Looks like something a previous owner installed. Follow the wires. Might just be a power socket for something they plugged in there.

FYI... that black switch panel to the right is also something a PO did. Possibly because some of the button on the original switch panel where no longer working?

Thanks for the quick reply.

1. there is a small Air looking pump. Correct not a vacuflush.

2. on mine the accessory button turns on the water pump for swim deck shower. That button makes a click and nothing happens?

3. I’ll take a picture tomorrow. Yes sorry spigot. It looks like you would hook up a garden house and spray off the deck.

4. I noticed it’s the same brand of the battery switch. I think it may have been a charger port hook up? I recently had a new charger installed anyway.

thanks again. Took out to lake Mohave this weekend and everything was great. Very happy with this boat so far. Just sold my twin diesel 43 foot maxum. 4100scr express cruiser. Looking forward to towing this around to different lakes and the river.

2. Accessory button... somebody rewired it.

3. Could be for a fresh water flush for the engine. Follow the plumbing.

4. Lot's of Perko things around a boat - maybe the "o" was hard to read? I'd only be guessing at what a PO installed it for.

Getting tough trailering that Maxum around, huh? :)

2. Sounds like it,

3. I’ll definitely test it out tomorrow.

4. I’ll do some more research.
Lol yes berthing and maneuvering that thing without power thrusters was it always fun. This thing is such a joy to Captin. Thanks again

3. Please see picture. I connected a hose and turned it on. It’s connected to the Blige pump in engine area not sure why or what it would be used for?

head: still haven’t figured out how to use the head or get water to it?

Thanks Ozzie

3. OK, that's not your bilge pump - look further under your engine. From the boat you had prior, I'm sure you recognize the seacock, so I won't go into any detail there. But the PO has that setup as a raw water washdown.

Head... put a gallon or two of water in the other side. Then that bellows pump will push water into the head.

3. Got it!

Head: I have two hoses coming into the back of the head. I figured one was for waste tank and the other for fresh water?

Just like a larger "holding tank", the smaller one is the vent.

You're welcome!

Check out your owner's manual, too - lot's of good info in there and will likely answer some questions you may have. You can download it from SR's website if you don't have the original.

I didn’t even think they would have it available for older boat. Yes! I’ll definitely download and use that.

thanks Ozzie

I have the same boat as you do and the same year. On the picture with the switch light on that should be the pump for the fresh water hose on the swim platform right next to the ladder. The holding tank for the water for that is under the floor right in front of the cabin door. (I actually don't have this option but a friend of mine with same boat does). The hoses running from the back of the porta potti is to remove the waste from the holding tank without removing the tank. There should be a cap for it on the starboard side just behind the helm on the gunwale to empty it. One hose is to empty it and the other is a vent. I normally just remove the holding tank manually to drain it at the end of the season. It rarely gets used. Make sure there is water in the holding tank on the top part. The top right is the cap to fill the water. The left side is the one to push down for the water to flush. Good luck with this boat. I love mine. Actuallly I just reread this thread and Lazydaze answered your questions and I also saw where you said the accessory switch turns on the pump for the shower on the swim platform.

Thanks for the info! Yes so far very happy and impressed by the boat. We took it to the river in Arizona last week and everything went very well.
