Bromide in sea strainer

I run PineSol through mine. Just close the thru hull and pore a gallon bottle in the strainer twice a season and stays clean. Recommended by my surveyor. Use it in all my drains, ac pan, sump pump. Gets rid of all the slime etc and leaves nice scent. Wife likes the Tropical Scent.
What if your strainer does not hold a gallon? Can you leave the lid off the strainer and continue to pour until strainer is empty? Do you run the A/C unit until no liquid comes out the discharge thru hull?

Yes you can, but I don't run it through my AC unit. I run it through the sump pump that the condensation dumps in to. That is what gets all gunked up. The bromine tabs I hear work well for the AC unit itself.

Bromine tablets would not be concentrated just what ever dissolved in the strainer and passes thru the system and out or I'm I missing something.

I guess I am missing something here too. You said you put Pine Sol in the strainer and close the thru hull. When you run the A/C does the Pine sol not go through the A/C unit itself and out the discharge?

Not th he raw water strainer. I use pine sol in the shower sump strainer and down all the drains and in the drip tray to the ac unit.

Which through hull are you closing?
