Countdown

We got that. The common room has a microwave that not sure works, you have to step over the missing planks on the pier, avoid all the dog shit everywhere from the liveaboards. But they have a yard full of derelict boats that they crush for the dump, so it’s kinda cool to look at all the old boats.

Then there’s the 34 Silverton across the pier with both windshield glass busted, covered in blue tarps with the AC runnning non stop since last May. Or the 2014 34 searay that was in a fire that owner bought for 3k on my pier. The place is a palace! $1600 a year, love it!

I sea trailed a dinghy last November in flurries up here in Michigan. I'm too old to be that cold while boating for fun :)
We just last week had a kayaker die in a river. No PFD but wouldn’t have mattered. Weekday early morn nobody around to help, hypothermia in minutes. Let’s wait a while boys and girls.

Thursday 70deg, went to marina. My lil zodiac survived the winter on outside rack (next year it’s coming in the house), you would think people would be out getting boats ready on the first sunny warm day. Wrong, I was the only one there.

There were 5-6 of us getting things started up over at Safe Harbor Kent Narrows (Mears). Those of use that stayed in the water. We got water into the boats and we all got them started up and running. Great weekend being able to get things going again for sure.

Ok gonna give away a lil known spot. Don’t broadcast it. St michaels. Carpenter street saloon, best cheapest bf you will ever eat. George Washington ate there! Really. Amazing place.

So I got new manifolds, risers, all kinds of new shit on engine. Canvas guy called today, new canvas done, waiting on outdrive checkout. Launch soon with a perfect boat!

Last week the engine was done, new stuff, manifolds etc, today new canvas installed, next week bravo 1 be serviced, then go time. Check out Chesapeake Bay mag online, article about Blue Angels be back in Annapolis on 5/25. And 2 days a sailor rescued by CG at mouth of bay. Those CG amazing.

Shout out if you need canvas in Baltimore. Lamar Canvas. Did me right, perfect job. No, I ain’t related, they did me new canvas when everyone else said they couldn’t do cause boat to old and can’t get pattern from SR. Call John, hook you up. They do upholstery and that teak look decking too.

Amazing thing is he had to match new canvas to the existing side curtains and existing camper canvas. Everyone said can’t be done, even this guy said he try but no guarantees, but he did it, perfect line up with zippers and snaps.

speaking of happy, i got to say, i left the side windows and aft cabin window open a crack for ventilation all winter. went in cabin first time since late October. bone dry all cushions, bedding in aft cabin. no smell, no moisture, not a drop of water anywhere. for a 30 yo boat. amazing! NO you cant buy it!
