I have a 95' 330 DA that has a cockpit heater with 2 vents, I cannot figure out how the unit works. I turn it on but it does not appear to produce any type of heat.....can anyone help elaborate on its function?

Thanks in advance

The heater works like the heater in your car. The engine has to be running and up to operating temperature before the hot water flowing through the heat exchanger starts producing heat.

Ditto.

I installed an aftermarket Heater Craft unit on my 30’. Tapped into hot water on port engine, worked great but you had to be at operating temp to produce heat. In addition, the unit didn’t produce a lot of heat at low speed. They recommended an auxiliary pump for extended low speed ops.

I've found the engines need to be above 1k RPM to get any heat to the heater core. In reading the manual, our setup should have a circulation pump to lift the heater water to the core. I may install one this year. On another note, I use mine more without heat on during hot summer days.
