The neglected Sea Rays

Here are a few more used and abused old Sea Rays. Sad to see them not being enjoyed on this holiday weekend.

A lot of these old boats graduate to being a trailer on water. Some folks have figured out that slip rates are often less expensive than trailer park space rents. They could care less about the condition of their trailer, as long as it continues to float.

Being a responsible boat owner, i'm ocd about maintenance, and tracking down small things before they become big things, because like everyone else, i'm always aware of that small fear in the back of my mind of coming to my marina and finding my boat at the bottom.

But then I see all of these boats neglected, sitting in disrepair, and i wonder how they're still floating, and i take a deep breath and remember my boat is fine

This one sat like this tied to a marina on the river we have a place on florida. Identical to my 2nd Sea Ray however mine was in slightly better shape.

My marina is a storage for derelict boats before they get cut up and land filled. I will get pics and post soon, you would not believe. Marina is a misnomer, it’s more like a trailer park on water.

The marina where I slip is a snow bird campground as well, but its actually kinda nice. The camper politics and all are silly but its a different world on the wet side of the road.

There's an expanding boneyard forming in a corner that those campers are none too fond of, but as a parts source its okay with us.

I dropped the screen from my water tank vent in the drink recently, took a short walk and had a replacement in 10 minutes. :)

Looks like your neighbour should check his bilge pumps…..looks a little low in the stern!
Ya, every so often the yard guys have to get on it and pump it out. I am told the interior is really nice, many offers been thrown, he wont sell. Maybe he’s got a body on it that he don’t want anyone to discover.

Yep, that type is all over the place. I had found a sister ship to my '69 Dodge Superbee that had sat in an old guy's front yard forever. Tried to buy it a couple of times, even with flashing a wad of bills in my hand. "Nope; gonna restore it one of these days." You know how the story goes; one day I drove by the place, and everything was gone! The car, the garage, the house! Bulldozed. I can only assume the car got crushed. Argh!

Hey Nater, you’re from potato country. Friday i was riding around the river on zodiac. I saw a BIG sailboat from Core d Arlene (?). And thought that must be land locked. How do you get a large sailboat from there to MD. Trailer?
