Hello All,
How do you leave your air conditioning settings (in your slip at the marina, connected to shore power) when you're not on the boat and you wont be back until the following weekend?
Thanks
Art

HU mode. Press heat, cold, and fan at the same time.

I turn it off. AC is a pump pulling water into your boat. I'd rather not have those running when I'm away from the boat for a while. Especially up north. I'm not sure you really need the dehumidification?

Off. We live in a desert and don't need the dehumidification. Plus the boat is under covered moorage so that keeps the sun off it during most of the day, and because the bow faces east, there's a white Stamoid cover over the windshield that keeps the heat from coming in thru the glass.

We must have it on while we are away. Near 100% humidity here most days. I either turn it up to 80 or dehumidification. I only leave the salon unit on because if something goes wrong it drains to a bilge pump in the midcabin so I have a little bit of a backup plan.

Off. The only time we run ours is when we are sleeping or when the weather is marginal. Used it today for the first time while doing a dinner cruise. It was spitting rain and cool so we had the drop curtain on with the helm air cranking. My take on the humidity is it's a non-issue in the northern climate. Our boat gets hotter than blazes when it is closed up. We don't run the fridge except when cruising so there is no reason to cool the cabin to take the load off of that appliance. And, the boat is dry below so mildew is not an issue.

I agree.

We keep ours off. I have a 30 pint dehumidifier that I keep running g all of the time at the dock. This drains into the shower and keeps the boat fresh.

Guys I completely disagree . U need dehumidify in NY in the summer. Multiple reason. One being the mold experiment ur breeding in ur fabrics . Two the extra strain ur putting on ur salon refrigerator. Yes .. ur refrigerator works harder when the air temp rises into the 90s plus when was the last time u cleaned the condenser coil on ur refrigerator ?? so yea def put ac in dehumidify mode.

I keep one of mine on DH in mild weather, both of them in extreme weather.

Do you have separate pumps for each unit? I could've sworn 460DA's used a single pump.

set mine to 78 when not aboard to keep the humidity under control......IMO this is a must in areas that have high heat and high humidiy during the summer......

The dehumidifier is a good idea.

I keep mine off most of the time, although if the weather is particularly hot or humid I'll turn on the AC the day before we use the boat so the cabin is comfortable when we get there.

The reason I don't do that is if a cold front hits and we get 4 days of rain but only 77 degrees of heat, the unit never kicks on.
