2018 searay spx230 i/o opinions/ reviews

I'm about to purchase my 1st boat , I've settled on the searay spx230, is their any advice use can give me on the purchase? It will be used in salt water since we live about 1 mile from the bay. Thanks

Brand new for your first boat??? My thoughts...buy a used 23 footer and save a bunch of money. You may find yourself looking at the ole 270SLX before you know it.

Yes I planned buying new, just cause I don't want headaches . If I look for used what is the best way threw a broker?

Welllll.......I suppose first and foremost I'd postulate that a brand new boat isn't necessarily going to offer less headaches than something in the 5-8 year old range. Some might even argue that brand new will be more prone to issues than something with a few hundred hours on it. "broken in" as it were.

Old or new boats ALWAYS....almost always...need something. It's a labor of love for most of us. Constant tinkering.

I'd definitely work through a broker or dealer for your first boat. They can be a huge asset. They can also help show you the ropes during a sea trial. Take a safety course too!!! Some states require it depending on your age...
