Been boating for twenty five years, dropped a few things in the drink:screwdrivers, car keys, iPhone,
My wife’s $1200 Cartier tank watch:(
(Dove in and found that). I always managed to hold on to my wallet though until yesterday:mad:. Crazy thing is I have no idea where it went in only that it vanished after I went through the dock gate! So here I stand at a California DMV office an hour before they open with twenty ahead of me at the front door.
Happy fourth everyone!

Bummer. I almost had to start my July that way. I dropped my drivers license at the Atlanta airport last week. Showed up at the rental car counter in Salt Lake and found out. Had to Uber around for a day, but amazingly it was found, turned in, and fed ex had it to me the next morning. Nothing like being out of state without an ID.

Man, you're doing this all wrong.

I start off the year with a solemn ceremony wherein I drop a few Harbor Freight tools into the drink at my slip and give thanks to Neptune for past years of boating safety and ask his blessing for the coming season.

So far it seems to work because I've only unintentionally dropped 2 cell phones and a few other assorted and sundry items.

I was just telling my brothers yesterday about the 'How Much Money Is Under Your Boat' thread :)

I usually start of the boating season by throwing my wallet in the the boat and telling it to take what it needs and then picking it up and then go on our merry way.

Plenty of tools at the bottom of my dock. Worst was when I lost my iPad in there last year. That hurt!

I don’t throw in any tools, but I do just toss in my regulator and grate off the Magma grill at the beginning of the season to get it over with. I’ll then eat a raw hamburger for good measure.

Update on a great start to July.
I found my wallet after all, somehow it made its way to the port window sill at the dining table. No possible explanation as to how it got there but I’m not inspecting the teeth of a gift horse to carefully.
Hope all had a great 4th! Mine was made better for sure.
Now we are off for a forty mile run up the Delta for the weekend. See you folks at Willow Berm.
Carpe Diem

I feel ya on that one. I've had to buy 2 replacement drip pans. Slippery little devils.
