Mid-90's 270 Sundancer Thread

Oh wait! I can still do that! I can use the shut off valve as a coupler.
Just put it on and that did the trick. No water leaking from the water heater and I have water at both hot and cold valves, only cold water though but that is all we need for flushing the head and washing the salt water off after swimming/snorkeling. Thanks for all the tips everyone!

How'd your fix work for you. I have to correct my earlier post in that you only would have needed one water supply line and two adapters. I don't know why I goofed and doubled it.

Our microwave just died. Does anyone know of a replacement model that will fit the existing Opening?

Just finished a couple upgrades. New steering wheel and new hull stripes and fore deck stripes

Howdy all! Went to open up the boat for the season and found the battery charger not working. Pro Mariner 20 (big black box) probably as old as the boat..How hard is this to replace and any recommendations?

I believe I have the Pro Mariner Pronautique 1210P. Very happy with the performance.

Thank you sir! I ended up going with the Pronautique 1220P since mine was already a 20amp charger. Thanks for the recommendation. The Pronautique didn't have any bad reviews at all. All the others, including the ProMariner cheaper models didn't sound good. Now to climb down and try and fit into the bilge to change it lol.

I have the same problem and it's not all age related!
Mine is mounted on the port side of the forward bulkhead kind of next to the water tank so it's not too hard to reach. Hope yours proves to be easy to change out.

LOL thanks Leon I'll let you know. Should be delivered tomorrow.

Howdy all! Hope you're all out enjoying the season. I'm replacing my old battery charger on my '94 270 and it appears its bolted thru to the aft cabin. Any idea on how to get the wall fabric in the aft cabin off without destroying it?

I don't know how I missed your new post. I imagine you got the problem worked out by now. What was the solution? I was thinking mine was mounted on studs and does not require access from the other side of the bulkhead.

Yea it was mounted with bolts into nuts on the other side. I ended up having to cut small X's where the nuts where because they were just turning and I needed access to hold them. Not the best solution. I'll attempt to fix the cuts with some type of glue or fabric repair. Not what I had wanted to do. I installed the new one with wood screws hopefully they will hold. Anyway, after all that, she's charging like a champ again!

I was afraid you were going to say something like that. Hopefully my charger will outlive me and I won't have to deal with that problem.
I would imagine you could cut a couple round pieces out of the excess material behind a cabinet or similar then simply glue them over the X's with contact cement.

Bad day on the river yesterday. Put in and got about a mile down river, overheat alarm started sounding and the boat died. After a cool down, motor ran fine in neutral, but i couldn't engage the drive, forward or reverse...smh...looks like I also blew a hydraulic line somewhere under the engine near the transom. All my hydraulic fluid leaked into the engine compartment and I was not able to use the pump to lift the outdrive for transport. Ended up lifting it by hand and strapping it up for transport. Was able to limp home on the trailer but I'm sure I'm looking at a costly multi-problem event. Hydraulic line and possibly something with the transmission/impeller problem?? Sigh. I'll be limping in to the boat shop tomorrow morning....Hope you all are doing better than I am right now. Happy 4th!!!

Well that is definitely one to be included in the list of “stuff that sucks “. :(
I’m not sure how the engine overheating would translate to an inoperative transmission. Definitely want to know what you find out.
We will be out on the river tomorrow evening with friends for fireworks show and will spend the night on the boat at the marina rather than drive home after midnight.
Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.
