  • Thanks Matt. I found it behind the main panel in the salon. However, can’t determine why it doesn’t shut down the generator upon testing the fire suppression system. It shuts down the engines and blowers but not the generator. I’m not sure if the relay is bad or it’s wired incorrectly. I’ve got to get this fixed to get the tag on the system for insurance ad USCG inspection.

You technically don't need an engine suppression system in you have the required amount of operable bottles on board. I think you need 3or 5. Just verify. My tag is missing and USCG aux which does my inspection every year says ok due to the portable extinguishers I have.
Hey Matt, I noticed that you know a lot about these 480s and was wondering if you would know where the relay control box for the halon fire suppression system is located? I have the Sea-Fire system on my 2000 480.

I took a look in my manual and only saw schematics showing: power, then line to helm automatic control and back to unit. So I'm not sure where the relay is. I'm sorry. You might have to just follow the cables if you can. Please let me know what you find out as it would only help the group.
