Finally splashed my project and came up with a small list of things that need ironed out. The biggest concern on my list is the steering. It steers fine at idle but as I increase the throttle it increases stiffness of steering. It gets a little bit better after finding a sweet spot of trim...
Actually, it was my second one ever. Last one was when I was 17 on my second car.
With that said, it was pretty easy. Took me about 2hrs. The kit I bought did not have a gasket for between the intake and the carb. It took me about 30 minutes to set the float, I had a hard time figuring...
IT's been a long time since posting so I figured I should update everyone as to what I have been doing lately.
I dug into the wiring and ended up replacing a good portion on the connectors and replaced and wires that had been cut/spliced.
Built myself a makeshift engine cover and then took...
Ok disregard the sending unit post! I took itout cleaned it up and cleaned the contact point for the sending wire and ground. hooked it up and manually moved it up and down, works fine. Its off a bit, shows just a bit below full, and exactly empty on the guage. Thats close enough for me!
Update!
I haven’t fell off the earth, or abandon the project! I actually have been lurking around the forums, and planning my new method of attack for this spring. I decide to start with tearing the tank out and getting all the water/fuel mixture out of the tank. While I am letting it sit and...
The bolt is placed in the highest location on the shift lever. I am just going to put a new cable on, hopefully I can get a hand this weekend and try to do it then. Thanks for all the help.
I kinda feared that, but I also figured that'd be the popular answer! I pretty much planned on a new cable just for no other reason just to be safe. One of those" if I don't ill regret it later deals"

So the cable seems to move about the same but it seems like I have to give it an extra little umph to hit drive when I do I by hand. Maybe its just me trying to duplicate a firm shift. Not sure. But I can adjust it to either or. Either everytime hitting forward or reverse. So maybe I am to the...
While I am waiting for some more materials for the restore I started working on the mechanical aspect...
Background:
Before last night I was unable to get the outdrive into Forward gear, so I began adjusting the cables. I started with the lower unit cable and adjusted the barrel to 6" on...

FInally finished up late last night. 11:30 to be exact. It was way to hot to work on it before 8pm so I worked under the lights! I have a toal of about 8hrs in glassing in the stringers. I have used just shy of 3 gal of resin so far. That does include coating the stringers and all other...
