This may be a long shot, but I am looking to buy a spare/used motor for a "good windlass CFD 5/8" model. I am trying to fix an old unit to keep as a backup but I don't want to put a lot of $ in it.
I was thinking about doing the same thing. Inside the closet in the aft cabin, there are two carpeted wall sections that are removable. The (6"?) duct that goes to the existing vent is hidden back there. I bet you could add a T section and run a smaller duct up to the helm.
Looking to buy a set of RH and LH propellers for a 1-1/4" shaft. 17" or 18" diameter and between 15 to 18 pitch.
Will be going on a 1991 350 Sundancer. I had an unfortunate encounter with a submerged tree yesterday..
The fan on the AC unit should turn on first. There is about a 1min delay before the AC compressor and water pump turn on. Are you sure you are waiting long enough for the pump to turn on?
The correct process is to use lapping compound to "grind" the tapers of the prop and shaft to match without the key installed. Use blue layout fluid to check the fit. This tapered fit is what actually holds the prop. The keyway is just a failsafe.
The coils on the ac unit are freezing up? Does it work on heat mode?
Maybe it is overcharged or your reversing valve is sticking causing the compressor to work too hard.
Does anyone know if the large panel above the entrance to the aft cabin comes off to gain access to the back of the dash? It looks like it is a removable piece, but I cannot figure out how it is attached.
Does anyone have a diagram or blueprint showing the location of the supports/stringers underneath the floor in the cabin? I have a feeling there is water below the floor and I have not been able to find any way to access this area.. I was planning to cut in some 6" dia access covers.
They are two of those 24V minn kota engine mounted trolling motors. They are both mounted in the same direction since they can can be run in forward or reverse.
