    Windlass Rope Replacement Recommendations

I would like to stick with the rope/chain setup. I personally think that all chain does two things. Adds excessive weight to the vessel and also more stress on the pulpit/bow when anchored. I believe the rope takes some of the stress from the bow as it stretches under high wind and current...

    Windlass Rope Replacement Recommendations

Vessel: 1997 Sea Ray 330 Sundancer Windlass: Lofrans Progress One Reason for replacement: Original rope and chain set up. I had the rope re-spliced to the chain three years ago and the gentleman who spliced it for me told me that this would probably be the last time I would be able to have...

Wondering about exhaust maintenance on 330 DA

I did find the manufacture tab on the mufflers. The maker is Centek Industries.

Wondering about exhaust maintenance on 330 DA

Does anyone know who the manufacture of the exhaust system is on this vessel? Thinking I could see if there are some other break downs of the internals of the system.

Wondering about exhaust maintenance on 330 DA

Vessel: 1997 Sea Ray Sundancer 330 Engines: 1997 7.4L Mercury Bluewater MPI Issue: Occasionally in choppy water and when I have the tabs slightly down to take off to plane the boat I hear a grumbling sound which sounds like louder exhaust noise than normal. It's not all the time this happens...

    Bravo 2 Trim Rams/pump issue!

I am leaning toward the pump itself. If the pump and or solenoid on the pump were bad it may be working at higher RPM because it's pushing almost 14volts into the system and possibly giving the pump/solenoid a boost. Interested in hearing other input. Thanks.

    Bravo 2 Trim Rams/pump issue!

Vessel: 1993 Sea Ray 280 SR Engine: 7.4L Merc Drive: Merc Bravo 2 Issue: Drive trim rams work (move up and down) only when the engine is running and has been running at a higher RPM maneuvering around. With the engine off, the drive will not move up or down. The trim pump engages and sounds...

    Leaking Trim Tab Line

The best advice I can give you is tear out that hydraulic system and replace it with a Lenco electric actuator system. The cost is affordable. You get rid of that hydraulic headache and the Lenco's are responsive and work fantastic. They have a Bennett to Lenco kit that uses your current tabs. I...

    Fuel Tank Ventilation Issue (SOLVED)

I am assuming that the loop is there to stop any fuel splash up and out the vent vs. a straight hose that would be only a few inches to the vent. If the tank is full I can imagine that could be an issue. Not 100% on that assumption but it's possible I suppose.

    Fuel Tank Ventilation Issue (SOLVED)

I did replace it. I didn't want to take a chance on this happening again because it isn't the easiest thing to get to removing all the panels. I did loop it in a similar manner but raising it up further and zip tying it making sure that it doesn't fold the loop down again. I am very confident...

    Fuel Tank Ventilation Issue (SOLVED)

Vessel: 1997 Sea Ray Sundancer 330 Engines: 1997 7.4L Mercury Bluewater MPI Issue: Ever since I purchased the boat when filling the STD tank with fuel, I could never fill the tank at a higher/normal pressure rate or it would back wash out the fuel fill and create a mess. I finally figured out...

type anodes to use on great lakes?

Magnesium is the type to use for certain. I even replaced my large transom anode to magnesium. Assuming Sea Ray installed zinc from the factory because they never wear down so I changed it.

Boat Trailer Lights: What are the Best?

I have always purchased submersible lights. The LED's are sealed in the housing but I notice that they are exposed to the water. Don't understand it.
