Thanks For the responses
Manifiolds are always changed out 4-5 years. That was my thought on the Oil and Tranny coolers and Mr Cool had decent pricing.
Happy New Year all
So question is on a 22 year old boat with 8.1s 760 hours do I go ahead and replace heat exchangers, Oil, Tranny and Fuel Coolers?
I have no issues and temps are all good. Not a fan of waiting for things to break in the middle of a short season but also don't want to throw...
So my hot water tank has a mixing valve on it that connects cold water to the outgoing hot water to adjust the temperature of the hot water supply. At first I thought it was water just getting hot in the lines in the bilge but the cold water when on and running for a while goes from hot to cold...
For all the issues we can have with boats this is low on the to do list but looking for some thoughts on the cause. I noticed that when I turn any of the sinks on in the boat I get cold water for a few second then it gets warm to hot for a few seconds. if i let it run it will cycle like this...
Board is not available anywhere and company I spoke to in Canada says they have been on back order since 2021
We tested the board by jumping wires and confirmed that test by ohm testing the board out of the boat. Genny only runs with preheat held due to the fuel pump being shut down by the bad...
So a long road to get my 7.0 BCGB Westerbeke Genny running again. Ended up being bad valves so the head came out and added a whole list of very expensive parts to the genny while she was apart. Back together and running better than ever aside from shutting down after running a minute. We...
Play Date.....You are 100% correct and thanks for the great advice. Will get a cylinder inspection done and do a redo on the compression test and hope for the best
Thanks!!
Thanks all for the replies..Generator was running a bit rough this past summer and at one point was only producing 80-90 volts Thats when a genny mechanic looked at it and did a bunch of diagnostics both front end and back end and found capacitors to be bad. It sat for about 3 weeks during this...
So had a mechanic look at it few weeks ago and compression came back low on one cylinder on a warmed/hot motor, Very rough starting then when warmed up ran better until a load was put on it and bogged way down putting out like 90volts.
Starboard engine running fine from same fuel tank with...
So my 7.0 Westerbeke generator was running extremely rough so we did a compression test
Came up with 210 210 and 209 readings with all plugs removed. Then did another test with plugs in came up with 180 180 90 added oil to the low cylinder an came right up to 250 so assuming bad rings ..

Pump was completely dead and 14 years old so new was best option. Replaced with 4 GPM 40PSI and no issues
Friend has a 360 and his has a 55PSI pump so should be good to go
Thanks
