I'm going on a Bermuda cruise in May....leaving from Manhattan. This will be my first time going....people who have gone suggest to rent a scooter and explore yourself. Apparently there is a nice bar called the Swizzle somewhere down there.
There's a few of us who have these boats...FireRooster and a few others.
Mine is a 94 7.4 Bravo1 also with about 480 hours on it.
I used to get 4300-4500 on rpm now am maxing out at 3800-4000 after having had plugs, oil changed, and coil changed. Can't figure out how to get the last few...
What up Rooster? Summer has been good so far. Boat is running like a monster right now.....after new manifolds were put on and plugs changed.
Photos will be posted shortly. I was looking at some lighting options similar to your set up.
I have a 1995 240 Overnighter Signature Series and have e mailed and posted with fire rooster on a few occasions....you'll love your overnighter...my fiance and I certainly love ours.
Best of luck to you liftedvanman....you'll enjoy the power the 454 produces once you get things straightened...
Henry....how did you make out on your problem? Is it fixed...and what was the problem.
I had the mechanic look at mine. He noticed the seal on the resevoir cap was missing so we're going to replace that first. We're not sure if the amount of accumulation of oil in the bilge is from the missing...
Hello all,
I recently bought a 1995 240 Overnighter. 7.4 Merc, Bravo 1 outdrive. Approx 450 hours on it. It had not run in a little over a year and I have been running it moderately the past two weeks...usually 2-3 hours a few times per week.
I had an alarm go off and upon inspection I...
Rooster,
Question for you on the 240 OV handling characteristics. I had mine out for her first run this afternoon and had some buddies with me. The one guy owns a 280 Sundancer. When were at cruising speed I trimmed the drive out and it was registering halfway on the trim gauge (between full...
Put the boat in this afternoon. I swapped out an exhaust bellow which took some time...then the broker had left the battery switch on during transport and I needed a jump after she was lowered into the water.
She ran like a champ as I ran her a nice long run from the Yacht club up to just...
Yes one of them will be mine. Delivery is tomorrow ( Wednesday) and after a trip for gas and a quick run, I'll tie up and start cleaning, fixing and rearranging and such.
Thanks for the advise Dave.
I'll be in receipt of the invoices for maintenance records for the past few years when the boat arrives. I'll keep an eye out for those items you mentioned. I know the bilge pump was working and the water pump seemed to be working .....the engine wasn't running hot...
Hello all,
Just got my first boat today. 1995 240 OV which hasn't run in a year and change. Bought from a broker and previous owner took decent care of it. It had $8,000 worth of work done last year ( new starter, steering components, trim tabs etc..) and during inspection I had noticed the...
Hey Bob,
Just saw your tagline and chip in about the question you asked and also your avatar.
I'm located along the PA / NJ border which the Delaware River runs along. I see plenty of small bowriders in the size range you're looking for towing tubers and an occasional skier.
Being new...
