The official '99-'04 260DA Sundancer thread

I installed this sensor in a previous boat and had it mounted at about a 15 degree angle. The problem I had was the sensor wheel in the device began sticking and giving erratic readings after one season. Garmin replaced the first one. The following season the same thing happened, and I didn't...

Boat moving from fresh water to salt water

My boat had a Perko Flush device installed in the raw water pump intake line when I bought it. It works fine but does not flush the outdrive. If you can hook-up muffs, that would be best and cheapest in my opinion. Make sure you check your anodes on the outdrive. They may be fresh water anodes...

Sacrificing your anchor to the depths

Hey Dave-M, Yes that would be pretty drastic, but so would carrying bolt cutters on board. Think I'll stick with 30' of chain and hope for the best. BTW, I haven't heard "tighter than Dick's hatband" since my Dad passed in 1982. Thanks for the memory!

    bravo 3 carrier replacement advice

I agree with you Brad. No need to invite trouble. Just had mine replaced, $399 for the part from BoatersEmporium.com, and had Marina replace for $200. Done, I can rest easy!

My current anchor is a 13# Danforth which is too light. Parts list shows original equipment was a 25# plow. Thinking of replacing my anchor with a 22# Delta. Any advice? What do you have? Boating area is coastal LI Sound.

Thanks Joe, I thought that was the case but have had no response from my recent attempt. Maybe taking a break from the computer.

    Facebook and forums...

I have seen FB work well if a '"group" is limited in scope. If it is too diverse, it will generally get out of control pretty quick. CSR is a huge Forum, lots of boat models, lots of cruising areas, lots of owners, etc. and it functions pretty good in my opinion. A wealth of information and...
