Wow, it looks really neat. I bet you have a helm cover for it , the old stuff looked a bit sunburnt .
Thanks for digging up the photos. My original systems monitor is temperamental hence the interest. Seems there are nice and simple little red led options out there , as opposed to breaking...
My 1996 400db had line 1 shore power converted to 240v for Australia before I bought it. I have figured out just about everything as to how it works, a sweet combination of the original 110v generator and 110v appliances , as well as 240v sockets and a hunk of an isolating transformer that can...
I posted this recently on a generator install in a different boat type. It might give you some ideas on a gantry.

Will you need to take the boat on one engine anywhere, there’s something about jury rigging cooling on the drip less to stop overheating on the shaft not in use
Hi, did you resolve this. My monitor stops working sometimes, I suspect voltage sensitivity , but I may have to remove it to have a look. Whether wiring on my 400 is similar I don’t know but I can photo it if you think it will help you
If it was behind the tv it’s not now, no remnant of it. Maybe it’s below the tv box floor. (I’m turning that tv box into a cupboard as per your solution with a flat screen swinging out on the door)
Guest cabin A/C. Anyone know the route the air takes from the unit under the master bed to the outlet in the guest cabin. I get nothing , I suspect the PO removed that ducting or impeded it when he put a steel tube in as part of an added crane on the foredeck . I just wanted to check if it’s...
I’ve seen a few posts on this over the years , some say loosen off the mounts and rotate the unit to get access, I suggest search this thread for Westerbeke Impellar
Out of interest when you say wired into generator output, do you mean you wired into an existing generator circuit
Dc to dc setups apparently have a loss factor in terms of lost energy, but only purists care I think
Did you resolve this. On my 400 the primer to starboard is close to the crankcase breather, on port it’s near the forward bulkhead above the fuel filter . I.e searay made sure they are accessible for both engines
thanks all, Shell Rimula is a thing.
As multigrade is now acceptable and as I have a non aftercooler set of 3116s, I reckon multigrade is the way to go for me, with all its fan dangle claims about engine life extending etc. And suddenly the infamous Rotella I read so much about seems to be an...
