    Replacement Bimini Frame

The gray part that attaches to the windshield is a readily available part. So is the plastic piece that goes into the one end of the tube. The tubing is stock 7/8" tube. The spring is also available...

    New to boating.

This past Monday I finally took her out. It ran good except for a little too high of an idle. Idled at 1K in gear. Temp was 125 at idle with the engine warm and underway it stayed at a steady 140 or so. Charging voltage was around 13.5 as shown on the dash gauge. I didn't look at it underway...

    New Sea Ray owner-little 180

Boat should not have structural wood in it. My 1995 175BR does not. There is wood in the construction of the rear seat platform and the rear seat back is entirely made out of wood. I haven't examined the front seat platform but suspect it has wood in it's construction as well. Ski locker has...

    Cracked block repair / questions

The first thing you should ask is how much to R&R the engine by it's self. If big money then I would highly recommend doing the engine while it's out. If it were mine I'd repair the crack and call it good. A good welder could repair that crack. It also might be able to be pinned. Personally if...

    The Bimini

Just my humble opinion. If you can afford to have the material replaced, do it. By the time you buy the material and necessary supplies you won't save much that is even if you had a sewing machine that could handle the job..

Absolutely frustrated with this Mercruiser engine

I have an Alpha 1 Gen 2 transom and gimbal ring with both pins. Selling the bellhousing tomorrow. Never mind, I see it's a Bravo 3

Looks like that is the case for a 1996 gen V. Lifter p/n 811583 shows as a flat tappet style. Nope... 1996-97 7.4LX shows roller. p/n 850467

The disadvantage of not having read the entire thread. I would still verify that the TDC marking on the dampener corresponds with the #1 piston being at TDC. should be easy enough to do with just a stiff wire.

https://www.baylinerownersclub.org/forum/current-topics-gc6/technical-discussion-gc12/210954-low-total-spark-advance-at-wot-gctid637982 I believe the knock sensor retarding (delaying) the spark timing has been brought up before. Also brought up it the linked article is the possibility of a...

Absolutely frustrated with this Mercruiser engine

This statement bothers me. I'm not saying that it isn't in the manual, it just sounds contradictory to everything I've ever known or seen. Why in the heck would they ever throw spark at varied crankshaft positions when the engine rpm is stable? A few degrees I can understand when wear is...

Absolutely frustrated with this Mercruiser engine

I can only speak of how things were with non positive stop stud mounted adjustable hydraulic lifters years ago. The procedure was, with the engine warm and running, and after initial adjustment (both valves closed TDC) was to back off on each rocker arm adjusting nut until the rocker arm...

You may want to rethink that. IIRC your results page was showing 8.22 degrees so 8 sounds correct.

How can two different C-R's have the same theoretical cylinder pressures @ the same atmospheric pressure?

I don't think anyone is debating compression. What I do think, at least in my opinion, the OP needs to start again with all the basics. Cylinder pressures, timing events etc. so they can rule out mechanical issues and move onto any external causes. There is a reason for the issue and as we...
