where we will go aboard Christmas Day. We want to go to the Keys and need some tips on planning, at least for the first few days.
My first question is where should I plan on getting on the first day? Just south of miami and anchor at Elliott? Or can I get farther than that and still have some...
Thanks. Lots of good info here. We are on a schedule to try to get down to West Palm for Thanksgiving with family. Other than that, we can certainly take longer if we need to. My home marina (Delegal) is on the south side of Savannah (about a mile from Hell's Gate), so I am hopeful a pre-dawn...
We are in a 450 Express Bridge with Cummins 450's.
Any advice is appreciated. OF course my trip depends on conditions off shore vs. in the ICW.
If the seas are calm enough, my initial plan is from Savannah to St. Augustine.
St. Augistine to Cape Canaveral area.
Cape Canaveral to...
about 48 hours after filling the tank, I am about at half full with little to no usage. I do hear the water pump running briefly every so often, so I wonder if something (water heater?) has a leak and keeps drawing from the tank.
I see water accumulated under my starboard engine and there is...
I have this one byu Streamlight. 1000 lumens and rechargeable. My built in spot works, but I keep this as a good backup or alternative.

I think it covers the vent exhaust from the guest head.
I also need some of those springs that secure above head lighting fixtures.
And finally, to they make LED bulbs to replace the original incandescent bulbs for the interior lighting?
Thanks in advance!
is there somewhere I can attach a hose and flush the system?
2. where exactly are the drain pans and what do I need to put in them to prevent clogs and keep them clean?
I am a total newbie to having AC units on board and need a walkthrough if possible.
Thanks in advance.
Good advice from both of you. I am trying to make marina reservations, but I realize we may or may not make it to those stops in time. Nice to have a booked slip though.
Those storms have me worried, not so much for a landfall, but for keeping us in the ditch the whole way. No way I am...
Capt. Rusty (or anyone else),
It looks like we will try to hit Deltaville, VA the first night. I would like to push farther, but we have to get the boat ready and I am not sure we will be able to leave the dock before noon.
From there, I was thinking the next leg would be Coinjock. The map...
Thanks Captain! This looks like a good itinerary to start planning. Would you pop offshore at Morehead City? Or stay inside? (Again, I know weather is a big part of the decision.)
Woohoo!
My plan is to come down the Chesapeake to Norfolk, take ICW through the Dismal Swamp and pop out at Beaufort to hopefully run offshore the rest of the way.
I would appreciate any thoughts on this plan, including about how long I should anticipate it taking. (I plan to travel more...
Thanks. We are doing oil sames, thermal imaging, etc. This boat was actually dried out and those joints re-glassed and sealed,so we are hopeful that we will get a good survey.
Good luck on yours and congratulations!
So you have found the best option to be to continue south to . . .where?
Lake Worth or that area before crossing? Or are you saying you set a straight shot southerly course from Canaveral to West End?
