    Cover Care?

When you apply the 303, is it on the boat? Any concern about overspray on the fiberglass? My covers are sunbrella and need cleaning and recoating this year. Thanks.

Moving a sundeck 220's trailer with a yard or garden tractor

I have a Scotts 1642 and I use it to move my 205 Sport on the trailer. I had a welder make a hitch mount from my cardboard mockup ($100). It has flanges on the sides and bottom. Will try to post photo. I bolted it horizontally and vertically to the back of the tractor. I bought a 5 wire...

Anyone here buy a Sea Ray through Costco?

The Costco deal worked for us a couple years ago. But the salesman told me the price was firm and he couldn't negotiate or throw in any extras. Supposedly Costco audits some of the sales to verify the price. Then there was some confusion on the gift card. I had to respond to a phone survey...

    Random "old fuel" question

Won't the oil foul the catalytic converter? I heard that Mercruiser no longer recommends the 10:1 mixture for fogging engines with converters. I wouldn't put it in the car either. I used my extra fogging fuel in my lawn tractor but ended up replacing the plug a few times when I didn't dilute...

Waterspots: Boat - yes, Car - no

I used the red Marine Gel Wash, #54. I have not tried wash/wax products on the car or boat. Do they work?

Waterspots: Boat - yes, Car - no

I waxed my boat with Meguiars Flagship and washed it with Meguiars boat wash. After drying it, it still has lots of waterspots. I waxed my car with Meguiars synthetic polish and washed it with Meguiars car wash. No water spots. Anyone else notice this? Why?

    Mercury Platinum Extended Service Contract

Thanks for the responses. I decided to go for the additional 2 years. Let's hope it is money down the drain. I would rather keep using the boat than collect on the extended warranty.

    Mercury Platinum Extended Service Contract

Just received the info for Platinum protection and am looking for advice. I plan to keep my boat for a number of years and am wondering if it is worth it. The cost seems high ( 1 yr = 337, 2 yr = 633). I am somewhat handy and plan to do my own maintenance. Typical use is 50-60 hours per year...

    Engine Choice for 205 Sport

I bought mine last spring off the floor. After a lake trial I expected the 4.3 L mpi to be good. I found later that with 3 or 4 adults in the boat, it was slow to get a slalom ski going. Luckily, I don't do that too much so I'm OK. Tubing and wakeboarding are less of an issue. Does the 2011...

    What was your First Car?

68 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible - used. 340 4 barrel - it would move! Worth more than my IRA now, wish I still had it.

2005 220 SD home in time for christmas!

Thanks for the info and the photo of the receiver hitch. Doesn't look like it will fit my Scotts but I will check with the local Deere dealer to see if they have anything for mine. Do you ever feel like the boat is lifting the front wheels of the tractor? Thanks.

2005 220 SD home in time for christmas!

Nice boat. Congrats. Wondering how you hooked the trailer to your Deere. I tried it with my Scotts (made by Deere) but the ball is too low. I couldn't lower the tongue jack enough to unhook. Do you have some kind of adapter? Thanks.

    Extra Fogging Gas

I mixed the 5 gal of gas and 2 qts oil like the manual said. Now I have over 5 gals left over. Can I add it to my boat in the spring after I use some of the current gas? I hesitate to use it in my cars because it could overload the catalytic converter. I can use it in my lawn tractor with a...
