2000 Sea Ray 240 Sundeck 24'
Engines
5.0 260HP
We are new Sea Ray boat owners and did not know that the lounge cushions would become kites just by simply towing the boat to the lake....after MULTIPLE very SLOW trips searching the road for the fly away cushion we have come to the realization that we will need to somehow replace the cushion. Apparently Sea Ray doesn't have a replacement part for just the cushion alone. We purchased our boat 2 days ago and this was our first trip to the lake with it. We've had multiple other boats and usually this isn't a problem. Did we miss a latch or fail to secure this cushion to the seat somehow? I've included a picture of the cushion that I took before we had purchased the boat.

It's beyond me that Sea Ray would manufacture this type of cushion that would so easily fly out of the boat! This boat was purchased, used so maybe ours just didn't have the strap, snap or hinge that were intended to keep it in place!! Any help from fellow 240 sundeck boat owners?? If someone has this cushion and would like to sell it, please let me know!

If you are talking about the "L" lounge seat it should be an easy fabrication by a marine upholster. If you can find another 240 locally you can template the shape or worst case the shop will have to come to your boat for the shape. One my old 260DA the cushion just sat on top of the fiberglass and was held down with velcro. If you trailer a lot then the you might want to have some hidden snap add to assist in holding it down.

No kidding, I knew on my SPX210 if I left open the windshield my rear seat cushion would pop lose. Well now even closed it popped and launched on the highway, it sorta snapped in place, and even my pulled up and broke a couple snaps, not what you would expect from a Sea Ray. Call the dealer, and well, that little seat cushion sits aft over the storage/cooler, only $702, what BS.
