Hello all,
wondering if anyone can help here. Have newly acquired 02 SunDancer 260 and the reading lamps in the bow area of the cabin do not work. I try'd new bulbs and still nothing. Does anyone know how these are removed from the padded panel so I can check wiring?

And... Are you putting the master switch (by cabin door) on?

Did you turn the little switch on each light "on". If I'm loking at the picture clearly, it might be turned off.

Did you look inside the anchor locker for the wires?

yes, I did push the toggle switch on each of the lamps. Since I posted this I have had some other 12volt electrical issues (Clarion radio died and one of the courtesy lights on deck went out and green power indicators on dash quit). Am going to check the battery voltages as it has been dockside for a week. It was plugged into shore power and I just figured the battery charger would keep the batteries fully charged. Wrong... previous owner took out the battery charger so I am led to believe that even though I showed voltage with a test light it was likely just not enough voltage to run the radio or even power it up. That may also be the reason the halogen reading lamps are not operating. We'll see soon enough.

Well that sucks.

These ProMariner chargers are the way to go if you want to install another charger.

Ordered a Guest 10/10 this morning. Thanks. As I surmised, the radio started working once I put a slow charger on my batteries this morning. The instrument cluster green power indicators also came back on . The reading lights however remain to be a problem. Thanks.

Check the power at the pins in the fixture and work backwards. You should also consider re lamping the whole boat with LED bulbs. Gets rid of the high amp draw of halogens and also the heat they generate. The replacement bulbs are relatively cheap.

Thanks Korkie that is the direction I have already taken. New LED lamps arriving today and all future lamp replacements will be LEDs. Found I did have power at the lamps and determined that the sockets were old and corroded.
thanks for your input.
