I just pulled the Garmin off the 270 and was curious why the fuel flow meter sensor was connected to the unreliable analog gas gauge? The fuel readings on the Garmin were very accurate, but was surprised to see it wired to the gas gauge.

It uses the fuel sender in the tank to read level and displays on screen. During setup it asks your fuel tank volume and gives you a visual of fuel qty. Then you get actual fuel burn, fuel remaining, visual of tanks levels and remaining fuel.

I truly did not know it was connected, but I never used the gauge screen, just the gallons remaining.
